Caspian 0 - 0 Norvan Saints

First Div 2 game for Caspian after promotion last year. very physical game , as Norvan Saints got stuck in every tackle. it was on a nice grass field in North Van - Home field for Caspian - and wet so slides were flying in left and right. Although Norvan had most of the possession they could not break Caspians defence and never really generated much scoring chances. It was Caspian who had the better chances to actually score, as midway through the first half they hit the cross bar on freekick. In fact it was the defender who in an attempt to clear the ball sent it right off the crossbar. The second half was much of the same, as Norvan had 1 or maybe 2 chances - with a good low shot that just went wide- and caspian counter attacked and could have easily won the game as well. At the end it was a fair result as both teams will be fighting hard all year to try and stay out of the bottom three.

Lomas 2 - 0 GFC

Two goals in the second half of the second half after a pretty uneventful game. GFC looks like a team that just started playing together, they tried to stick to their system, but couldn't build up anything. They might get better if they don't go on a losing streak off the bat, but they do play HK and Rino on fixtures 3 and 4, and it's doubtful they'll be able to compete with those teams. They were most dangerous when they tried to lob the ball over our defenders, but after minor readjustments to the back line, it was smooth sailing.

C looks like hardest group....richmond and desmesh will be good match up..do not think desmesh will be able to stay on their feet during that game due the tough play by richmond

A will be three way battle between rinos / NK / lomas.

Fairly accurate report. We (GFC) have quite a few new players that we're hoping will gel sooner than later. It didn't happen the first game for sure, as we gave the ball away a lot of the time when we didn't have to. Not sure who the big center mid is, Dezza. They have a few guys on the large size - one was up front for them.

Konk, I caught the last half of your game and he was not there. He is not just big, but also skilled. You would know if you saw him. Santi would know if he's on the team this year.

Yes, he is. He was away on holiday last week, but he'll be back for Saturday's game. Please don't call him things like 'mountain sized' and 'force to be reckoned with' though, we still have to play with him every week.

Lomas 4 - 4 Romania

An early goal before the nerves settled gave Romania the lead, but we tied shortly after that. We lost the ball on our end and on a counter they got a good shot in and went up 2-1, but again we tied quickly, this time from a header. That was the first half. We pull ahead early in the second half, our mountain sized english lad chested a cross down and put it away past the goalie. After that, our goalie misjudged an easy cross that ended up going over him and straight in to tie the game, and with a few minutes left the ref called a penalty for Romania. We tied it again in injury time.

When we'd get comfortable and try to impose our will, they'd be dangerous and opportunistic. They have a good center back, a couple of decent center mids, and a dirty keeper. Like kick you in the back when you are not looking kind of dirty. My guess is they'll clean up against the weaker teams, but will have trouble against teams with a good passing game.

If we are talking about keepers, get one that can kick properly and position himself better on free kicks. It's never good when our RB chips him on purpose from 36 yards out.

Not nice to brag about beating up 13 to 1 some depleted team bud but you guys had a really good team...still shocked you boys couldn't make it to the B Cup finals that season.
