Better effort from Akal than their last performance (lack of) against the Hurricanes. Dominating majority of the possession time in the first half, however, lacked quality chances. Second half was similar to the first, with Akal controlling the the play but Olympics generated one scoring chance early but Alex (ex-whitecaps keeper) made a nice save. Then Akal caught Van trying the offside trap as a ball was nicely played through and finished equally well to give a 1-0 lead. Soon after, Akal capitalized again off of a cross to give a 2-0 margin. Van scored late in the game to cut the lead in half but, too little, too late.
The score was close but IMO Akal was clearly the better team on the night and a good prep game for RCIU this Saturday in the Imperial Cup
Nice to meet Bergamascho tonight at the indoor soccer..........There was also a Uniballer sighting and they were seen and heard heckling the ref...........but they did manage to order some chicken strips for the ref who is on a diet.
Let the record show that CS turned down a pint not once but twice so that more due care and attention could be paid to reffing...yes this sets the tone for a messy St Patty's as no self respecting Irishman let alone any self respecting man can turn down a drink on the annual celebration of drunkenness that is Lá Fhéile Pádraig.
Berg, do you want to put a team into the RRSL on Thursday nights?
RCIU play in the Richmond League on Tuesday/Thursdays....perhaps a COED team this year (we'll know within the next week) and as for Kamloops....not sure at this point.
