The whole thing is messy to be honest but the clubs mentioned are all linked to those premier teams so your guess is as good as mine but sounds like the league allows this to happen

What's the promotion/ relegation structure this year? I see many divisions have changed this year to more teams going down.

Looks like Pool B has 3 teams that can not be promoted to Premier; Rinos Fury, Metro Ford and Coastal. So in theory if those teams finish top 3 then the 4th place gets promotion and 5th place gets a playoff game. Kind of strange that the league would put all of them in one pool.

Can someone confirm that's what would happen or would it go based on points between the 2 pools?

Correct - none of those three teams can get promoted from Pool B. If they finished 1-3 then yes, 4th would have gone up and 5th into the playoff. Fortunately that looks incredibly unlikely to happen, but still a less than ideal scenario for the league.

As it stands it looks like one of Westside or Metropolitan will go automatically up and the other into the playoff (Metro need one more win or one more Strikers loss to confirm this scenario).

Re How did the league let this happen - the Coastal/Rino's merger happened after the pools were drawn.

Originally there were three teams that could not go up (without a concurrent Prem relegation) in Rino's, CMF Lupi and Norvan. Plus only one of the two Westside teams could get promoted. Coastal was supposed to be the favourite in Pool B, but then pulled the merger with Rino's to get straight into Prem. It just so happened that they were already drawn into the pool with 2 out of the 3 pre-existing non-promotion teams, thus making it 3 out of 7 in that pool ineligible to go up.

@big gk Promotion and Relegation this season:

Two Div. 1 Pool winners straight to Prem
Pool A - Columbus; Pool B - Westside or Metropolitan

Two Div. 1 Pool runners up playoff against each other - winner plays 3rd bottom in Prem to go up
Pool A - Port Moody or Greencaps; Pool B - Westside or Metropolitan (or Strikers)

League announced no further expansion, so going back to 12 TEAMS ONLY in Div. 1 next season (with still 2 promoted from Div. 2).

Therefore 4 DOWN from Div. 1 - Bottom 2 from each pool.

Pool A - Norvan and Westside United (or GN or Serbia if Westside somehow run the table and one of those stagnate)
Pool B - Shaheen (barring a miracle) and one of Strikers/Coastal/Lupi (Metro not mathematically safe yet but need just 2 more points)

I believe Westside A has earned promotion now officially from Pool B

Playoff should be Port Moody vs Metropolitan to play Peg (as it currently stands)
