Video Games thread (for 30year old virgins)

Well its out, and its tough. Mostly only played the online multiplayer, and the elite had some glitches, must have been everyone trying to get on. The mulitplayer maps are tough to get used to, and for the most part I got lit up like a christmas tree. I like how its closer to MW2, with the clan tags and emblems. I will allow this game to take up some of my time

Yeah, depending on game mode depended how well I went. Spawn system seems very random on objective based games. Love the support streak system, even if you do bad k/d wise you can still do good. I've been tops on my team most rounds even with an absolutely awful k/d.

my k/d was certainly above 1.2-1.5:1 on Blops, but I'm getting FCUKING ANNIHILATED in this game.

New maps = me n00b.

This is going to take some getting used to, anyone got a good resource to look at maps online? I'm getting embarrassed.

I agree, I have done the same with terrible ratios. My Black Ops ratios were quite strong but just like MW3, I struggled until I learnedd the maps in and out, once that happens im sure all our K/D will improve. Maps seem good, even though I haven't done them all yet. Have you got anywhere on Elite? It wouldn't let me log in, probably just to many people trying at once.

I tried multiple times to log in, here's the thing: When I was refused connection it wouldn't spit me back out to the Main Menu of the game... I couldn't figure out how to escape elite... I tried to reload MW3 from the PS3 menu dashboard and that didn't work, I ended up resetting my system and ignoring it till I have more time to figure it out and actually login.

I had the same issue, I could quit and restart the game no problem, but also could not escape Elite. I really wanted to explore what it was all about. Hopefully today I will have better results. Maybe get a game or two with JBN and Berg.

They've had issues with capacity, apparently should be fixed today. Since I'm all about winning, K/D is very game dependent. Running a 2 on TDM, Kill Confirmed (which is freaking awesome BTW), and like .5 on domination. Since you get points towards your streaks for capping flags and shooting down stuff and it doesn't reset when you die, I don't really care about dying or living. Quite fun actually.

I was thinking about this earlier today chatting with a buddy from work.

I enjoyed having a solid k/d as to me a FPS should be about not dying and killing vs. who cares how much I die as long as I rack up points... These games should reward guys who don't die just as much as those who go on suicide runs to rack up kills... My buddy told me BF3 might be more for me then... hmmm....

I enjoyed having a solid k/d as to me a FPS should be about not dying and killing vs. who cares how much I die as long as I rack up points... Then use the assault strike package. That's why MW3 is sweet. Assault for the guys who don't die and get streaks, support for what I talked about earlier, and specialist for the lone gunman. BF3 is more score based than anything. I finished 2nd on a leaderboard and went like 1-20, all I did was run around throwing medic kits and trying to kill people with a defibrillator. Since you get points for healing I kicked ass. It's also very slow paced I find, which is what I'm loving about MW3.

I really like how the weapon gets better upgrades the more you use it. Very solid idea, especially if you prefer certain weapons. The Sniper Rifle, is pretty sweet for one hit one kill mostly. Ive done sabotage and domination and I favor domination as you know you will get a longer game time. I think once I get better ill try the Kill Confirmed cause that does look awesome. Looking forward to Elite TTP groups too.

It's fun, you kill a guy and leave his tags there, then others on his team try to get them to deny the kill, and you just keep picking them off. Let me know if you get the TTP group up and running so I can look for it tonight, doesn't work for me at work, we use an old crappy browser.

That sounds awesome, are you on PS3? if so whats your username? and will groups work for people on all platforms? or just Xbox and PS3?

I'm on both, although I haven't played on PS3 since August. Bobcaygeon_riot. Groups should work for all platforms, but since I can't get in who really knows

So are we gonna get this TTP deathsquad going or what? Good times so far. I was rusty at first and averaged a shite ratio but after a few days I am back to 1.0 or thereabouts, I have found my camping spots and oh boy do I love the new specialist kill streak feature!!

How are the rest of you faring? I think I am up to Level 46?

That statement makes me hate you. Do not camp. This game is not for camping. I hate campers!! I've only played Friday and a bit of Saturday, but I'm up to level 55. The gold gun camo is sweet. No idea what my ratio is, but I do a lot of winning and I'm at the top of the leaderboards pretty much every game. My only pet peeve is that the scoreboard only has kills/assists/deaths. If you're playing domination or K/C it would be nice to know caps/tags grabbed etc.

My K/D is almost par, Kil confirmed is an awesome game, only lever 33 but have done more campaign at this point. Ive gone on Elite but cant find out where to create a clan, if someone wants to create ill join. Now that I have the day off, ill spend time working on my craft.

Elite finally fully worked for me this morning. I didn't have enough time to creat a TTP group, but you'll have to call it TTP. I tried searching Take The Piss and apparently one of the words is ineligible. I'm guessing Piss It's pretty sweet from what I saw of it, and the Founder/Premium status is working which means next time I play I should have the Elite Founder title/emblem/gun camo.
