This one will put them over the top. Gillis obviously panicked after that big loss last night and felt a shake up was needed

Why though is Oulette reporting to Manitoba? His numbers look pretty good - certainly better than some of the current roster players. Pettinger, Raymond (fast), and Johnson come to mind. Krajcek was soft and O'Brien seems to be fine with mixing it up a bit. All in all - thumbs up.

nonis is that you? The good teams are always looking to improve. nothing wrong with that. for 2 straight years nonis slept through trade deadlines due to tim horton tid bit hangover. he was always hesitant to pull the trigger even if it was minor. teams dread playing us this year.

I dont see how the addition of yet another potential 3rd/4th line winger and 7th defenseman helps. This isnt where they need the help

tid bit?

Oullett to the AHL!? That makes little to no sense with Pyatt, Pettinger, and a few other plonkers kicking around with the 'Nucks.

Oulette can score and plays bigger than Pyatt, although he is much smaller.

Krajicek is a donkey.

Good deal...I am more excited about Oullette than O'Brien though.

great move by gillis we get harder and tougher to play against. Oullet had some decent numbers playing with Crosby and prospal in Tampa

Well if he put up numbers after being saddled with bums like Crosby, he must be a fcuking star. The Canucks are saved ! We should start planning the parade now

Leave it to an Oilers fan to be 2 steps behind.

The parade planning started last week!

So here is the scoop on this deal.

Oullette was thrown in because the NHLPA has not notified the NHL that this is the last year of the CBA as of yet, which in a round a bout way means it is. Therefore all players bonuses will count towards the cap, effectively meaning Steve Stamkos is a 2.58 Mil Cap hit, instead of just the NHL rookie cap, even if he doesn't make hit targets, the bonuses count towards the cap. He was thrown in as a salary dump, and we will lose him off re-entry waivers for sure if he is called up, and since we have the cap space, we can afford it...(if he is claimed we have to eat half his wage which would be roughly a half a million)

I think O'Brien is supposed to add what they lost in McIver.

Nice pick up by the Ducks since McIver has a nasty streak and will become Anaheim's shootout specialist.
