On a soccer note - just found out that we are down one midfielder for the Columbus game due to yellows - 3 is not enough - guess I'll have to move into midfield - now we are back down to one sub - JAGS - you sure you don't want to play ?
Eagles - can you cause a disturbance on Lougheed Highway to hold off Columbus from arriving ?

It been two weeks now since the last rankings, and the schedules have been rather light. There have been some moves and additions though. Here is this week's edition of:
Sir M's Excellent Power Rankings 2009-2010
1. Columbus FC (VMSL). Last rank: 1. Columbus tied Sapperton and beat Metro Ford. Undefeated in 5. They are home to West Van next.
2. West Van FC (VMSL). Last week's rank: 2. West Van beat Cliff Avenue, and did not play last week. Away to Columbus next.
3. Westside (VMSL). Last week's rank: 5. This team continues to roll, and beat Surrey United and Sapperton the last two weeks. They have an outside shot at second place in the VMSL. Away to Sapperton next.
4. Port Coquitlam Castillians (FVSL). Last week's rank: 4. This team beat Peace Arch Rangers, and then had their game against NDAU postponed. They are away against the All Blacks next.
5. Sapperton Rovers (VMSL). Last week's rank: 3. Don't look now, but Sapperton has not won in four games. A chance for redemption this weekend, as they host Westside.
6. UVIC Alumni (VISL). Last week's rank: 9. UVIC had a couple more wins, and are solidly in first place in the VISL.
7. Delta United (FVSL). Last week's rank: 7. Delta beat Surrey Heat 6-0, and then Aldergrove 1-0. Away to NDAU next, FVSL MOTW.
8. Peace Arch FC (FVSL). Last week's rank: 6. This team drops again after another tie. Abbotsford next.
9. Richmond United (VMSL). Last week's rank: 8. Richmond also drops one spot after tying PCOV at home. No game this week.
10. North Delta Alumni United (FVSL). Last week's rank: 10. NDAU stay the same.
11. Mission FC Blues (FVSL). Last week's rank: 14. Mission moves again after their dismantling of GEU, followed by their tie with PAFC. Home to Peace Arch Rangers next.
12. Portuguese Club of Vancouver (VMSL). Last week's rank: 12. PCOV hold their spot after tying Richmond. Looks like a sixth place finish in the VMSL for this team.
13. Surrey United (VMSL). Last week's rank: 11. SU got thumped by Westside, and then had a bye last week. No game this week.
14. Cliff Avenue United (VMSL). Last week's rank: 17. Cliff hung in there against West Van. They finish the season 9th in the VMSL. No game this week.
15. Gorge F.C. (VISL). Last week's rank: 19 . Gorge did not lose over the last two weeks, while teams immediately ahead of them in last week's rankings did. Second place in the VISL.
16. Nordic FC (NSCL). Last week's rank: 18. This team had a tie and a couple of wins. First place in the NSCL, and undefeated this season.
17. South Delta United (FVSL). Last week's rank: 15. This team came out of a recent slump by beating PAU 3-2. Down two after their loss to Langley week before last, however.
18. Wickham FC (VMSL). Last week's rank: 16. Wickham is another team that is struggling of late, this time losing to Metro Ford. No game this week.
19. Roma F.C. (NSCL). Last week's rank: 20. Roma moves up after beating NAFC and tying Nordic. No games in the forseeable future.
20. Vantreights (VISL). Last week's rank: not ranked. Vantreights are nipping at the heels of second place Gorge over in the VISL.

Vantreight's has a league game vs UVIC Friday and a Tony Grover Cup game vs UVIC next Friday. Second place in the VISL Masters A should equal a provincial berth or making it to the finals of the Tony Grover. I know you lower mainlanders dont care about what happens on the island, but there is the info anyway.
