Congratulations to Ghouse and his crew. Winning any cup is always difficult and to win two on the same day is even better. :)

Now, how many more cups are there in the FVSL this year? ;)

Well done to ACBC.

A few mentions please.
Mission you did a bang up job, first class at hosting the Cup finals right down to your Mayor handing out the trophies. a big THANKYOU is in order.
Chilliwack played their best and hats off to them as they gave us a great game.
Your Goalie was awsome. the 1-0 overtime score sums up the game totally.
Weekends like this is why we are proud to say and now represent, we are in the FVSL.
Thankyou to all

ghouse,

Congrats for taking both the Presidents and more importantly, the Pakenham.

A lot of people don't realize how you basically started a club from scratch just a few years ago and now you own all the silverware.

Well done!

Congrats to ACBC.

Great final to watch and unlucky Chilli.

Top marks to the FVSL brass for a great day as well as the volunteers from Mission SC.

Cheers,
RF

A few random thoughts two days after a great Pak Cup battle and still not over it yet...

-organization by Mission was great--no complaints there. The field, however, was absolutely shocking, particularly for a Cup final. It brought the level of play way down for two skilled teams.

-thought Kevin in the middle did a good job keeping things in check, particularly when it became chippy near the end. He gets the line of the match too when talking to Zac after another crunching tackle and then the inevitable yap afterwards: "Zac, why are you always getting in the middle of these things?!" Was an answer really needed?

-some questionable offside calls. Two WACK goals called back, one clearly offside, but the other was very close by all accounts of those close by.

-just gutted over the fact we've lost two Pak Cup finals in a row in such heartbreaking ways (shootout loss to PAU last year, overtime this year)

-although it felt like we were defending more than in any other game all year, most watching commented that the WACK had the better offensive chances. WACK carried the play in the first half. Second was more even, until the last 15 when ACBC seemed to elevate and carry it. Overtime was pretty even, maybe an edge to ACBC. Have you ever seen two more tired teams than at the beginning of OT? I lost count of how many touches went astray those first 2-3 minutes clearly from fatigue. It was like running on a beach out there.

-MVP for ACBC was Diaz, who looked rock-solid on their backline all game. MVP for Chilli was Mike Perry, who then in a very classy, selfless move, gave the award to Jake, for his play in net. Other standouts IMO were Venny up front for ACBC, Shorty in the middle for Chilli, and a great battle between Sean Calver and Admir out wide for 120 minutes. Honestly have to give the edge to Calver, who shut him down except for a few runs at the end. Very skilled, but very easy to get him off his game as well.

-our young keeper, Jake, took a helluva a knock on the forehead (went to the hospital after it swelled up to Frankenstein-like size) and while still shaking off the bells ringing in his ears, makes the save of the game to preserve the scoreless tie at that point.

-credit to ACBC for playing hard for 120 minutes, they play fast, cutting balls through the gaps and are all skilled enough to beat players at any spot on the pitch. We had our hands full, but thought we defended well. We did everything we had to get the win, for the second year in a row, but walked away with nothing. Sad, but that's life. Sorry for the long post, needed to vent... On to next year...

Whistle Blower reffing?
You sure it went to OT?

He has been known to play games that extend, which seem to be like you are playing OT.

Confirmation please.
