Earlier last year the Ontario Soccer Association announced they were starting their own "BCSPL" (called OPDL) to the same crazy panic that people around here had.

Now the OSA has taken another huge step after the betting scandal of the old CSL with their new semi-professional league called Ontario League 1.

They had a pressor on Tuesday with composed of Ron Smale the president of the Ontario Soccer Association, Dino Rossi the chairman of League 1 Ontario and Benito Floro the head coach of the Canadian Men's National Team and endorsed by the CSA.

Could BC be next on the CSA's mandate to create a 3rd tier on the Canadian landscape? Should it? Didn't they try that already?

Teams will be from all over Ontario and will also include the TFC Academy.

Absolutely BC should be next. Amazin that Floro was there. This tells me the CSA will look at this very seriously as a development league, and with the inclusion of the TFC Academy this gives a tonne of creedence to the league. I imagin Montreal will join it shortly

More control to big club. Flock like sheep. Head coach has to show up to be seen. AS far as show case it's not going to happen. Our kids need to play in World class leagues to be able to play for our National side. Nasl uses few Canadian kids. MLS we might have four on three clubs.In orther for Floro to win games we need six teams in MLS and thirty guys playing at that level. I just don't see it for next 15 years. My hats to Ottawa in NASL for giving Canadian kids place to play same to San Antonio Scorpions.
BC, Alberta and Sasket form our own Nasl. Manitoba Ontnario and Quebec group B. New small stadiums and it all will fall in place. Fragmenting Leagues all over the place just kill what we darn well have. Best of luck to all but in my opinion you need a buggy before you buy a horse or that horse will kick you in the ars from much free time.
