Working my way through the pvr the last few evenings... just watched this film tonight.
It's been a long time since a tears were shed watching anything... some pretty hard to stomach stuff there...and story as inspirational as you'll ever hear. That Steve Nash fella is pretty talented hey?
BTW: These 30 for 30's are out-fcuking-standing!

The true definition of a hero - someone who puts a cause as important as his ahead of his own life.
His impact is still felt today as much as it was nearly 30 years ago - in some ways even more so.
I grew up pretty close to where Terry lived in Port Coquitlam and when he was training for the run he ran past me a few times. The first time he went past me it was pretty intimidating with his awkward style and artificial leg and I had no idea of his plans for touring the country. But it wasn't long before the city claimed him as their son and we followed his progress very closely.
The only word to describe the feeling that went through my teenage mind when I heard that he died was "devestated."
Great film. Very glad I could watch it.

I was just appalled at one point in the film when Terry's old Basketball coach was helping him begin training with his first prosthesis... I guess he was running around a Poco track, kept fallign down and his stump was bleeding all over the place... but he wouldn't give up...A mother who's kids were playing nearby came over and screamed at Coach to "Get that FREAK outta here". So Terry trained at night in the dark. 
I bet she felt like the worst human being on earth a few months later!
The other thing this film did was let us in on Terry's journal, and the tension between him, his buddy, brother, and that dude from the Canadian Cancer Society... some dark times there...

Any of you uever watch the movie "Terry"?
CBC plays it evey year when the Terry Fox Run occurs.
Good movie as well. I have watched both and they give you some good insight into his run.
The 30 for 30 on the Escobars(Soccer player and the Drug kingpin) was pretty cool too.

3. Silly little game (The story behind the birth of fantasy sports)
4. Kings Ransom (gretzky trade)
5. Birth of Big Air (Matt Hoffman story
6. Muhammad and Larry
7. Straight outta L.A. (Ice Cube, LA Raiders, Al Davis...)
gotta catch up on all or them!

God Bless, Terry Fox......a TRUE Canadian hero.
30 for 30 is top drawer.......it really is but the most riveting one(Terry Fox is in a completely different way) is definitely the Two Escobars........**** me, that was powerful and it really was unbelievable how much power the drug lords had at that time.
BTW, is there any DVD series for all these episodes? I would rather watch it on the TV, as opposed to the computer.....????

If you PVR, TSN and TSN2 have reruns on the more popular ones running throughout the weeks.

amazing episode!!! I can't describe it as I wouldn't know where to start. But its a must watch, thats for sure.
