FVSL Masters PreSeason Favourites Poll

So since I know none of you does any work at Fridays anyways, i figured i'd start a new thread to see who people think this years favourite is to win the FVSL Masters Division

Now that we've rid the league of the SFC Rangers the league can clean up it's act. We've added some stellar teams to the mix this year.

New to the League is some team from Langley (10th in Div 1 08-09) and the all mighty, highly skilled, and gentlemenly Poco Castillions (brand new team).

I appears there is a few teams that have either moved on or changed names. Abby Ancient Mariners are gone and Abby Brickmen are in.

Surrey Heat is new as well.

This years teams are:

LUFC Athletics
Mission FC
North Delta United Alumni

PAU Rangers
PAU United
Poco Castilians

Finally a new thread that is not complete nonsense. Getting tired of reading about this North Delta team. Can't wait to hand them their asses.

I think the Athletics might be good enough to win it based on what I've seen... however the delta sides might have something to say about that.

Going from last years results Delta United look to be a good team and will probably be near the top of the standings. The Castilians will be strong this year. I'm sure the new kids on the block from Langley will put together a good squad.

Teams that should be at or near the top IMO:

Delta
NDU (sorry JTL)
Mission
Peace Arch - I'm not sure which one after the names have changed
Poco

Middle of the pack and could contend:

Langley Athletics (unless Dude really does sign there, in which case they'll flounder)
Aldergrove
The next best Peace Arch team
GEU Thunder - who have gotten pretty good since I played there

The others traditionally are bottom feeders or are unknowns

Delta has to be favorites as the defending League Champs. This year should be tough as some good sides have joined. Top 10 is no particular order:

Delta United
Mission
North Delta Alumni
Aldergrove
Poco
PAU - last year were white, new name this year
PAU - last year were blue, new name this year
South Delta
Langley All Blacks
Langley Athletics

Single match up's mean one mistake can drop you out of the top 10 this year.

Other than that- we have no idea what to expect, except to have Colin Cameron in the line up vs Poco. Good times.

I see the schedule should be on the FVSL site soon, so we know when we can exchange pleasantries.

Poco should be a favorite looking at some of the names on the roster.

I know playing summer soccer with the Rangers in Ladner (otherwise referred to as the World Cup by davey bc) with a couple of the Langley boys who are on Utahs winter team figure they are definate favorites.

Look forward to kickin those two during the match and the post game banter over a couple of frosty ones!

I think we are pretty excited about this upcoming season with our new signings etc and the league has not made it an easy start with the first few games.
Oh well, get those wins out of the way then carry on.
