HOS, our team joined the NSCL this year to have a chance at one of the three provincials spots they have for BC's in the master's. With us joining we messed up the 10 team configuration. So what the league decided at the beginning of the year is everyone would play each other once, after 10 games played the top 6 teams would be put in Div 1 and the bottom 5 in div 2. Everyone plays against their own division one more time. The top 2 teams in div 1 automatically get 2 provincial berth's. The 3rd place div 1 plays the top div 2 team in a one game knockout at the end of the season for the final provincial berth. I know The FVSL get's one or two more spots than us, but this is maybe an idea you guy's could bring up at the next league meeting. It might be to late for this year though!
Keep in mind WB, that there can be many many problems with a split league in the second half. If split into top 6 and bottom 6, are the bottom 6 completly elliminated from a chance at a BC spot from winning the league or coming in second. I say this because, 7th or 8th place team playing in the bottom 6, could go 5 and 0 in the second half, earning a full 15 points, to put them into top or second spot, do they get a BC berth.
