American Football probably has something to do with it too. Unfortunately those guys absolutely munch grass, so it makes more sense for municipalities to build turf as it works as a multi sport surface.

We played Surrey on grass earlier this year in at Cloverdale athletic park and one the guys on the team commented that it "looked like Wembley".
Muncipalities should use Surrey's turfgrass maintenance program as an example as their fields are top class.

I think it's clear natural grass fields are better value and more environmentally sustainable.

1 million+ $ artificial fields that have to be redone every 6-8 years vs $250k -$350k sand based natural grass fields that don't have to be redone with similar maintenance costs.

Good game nice friendly group of guys both teams looked like we hadn't played in 2 months in the first 25 mins, we picked it up after words and got a couple goals, felt like we outplayed them after the first 25 and deserved the win, good friendly group of guys. Other then our one guy getting into it with there's was a clean game. Starting off the new year well, hopefully we can keep it up
