Highlanders 4-4 Poco. What an ugly game on our part. We were down 3-0 at half and didn't get much going until about 60 min in. We controlled the last 30 and clawed back to take a 4-3 lead with 8 to go. Thay tied it with a minute or two left. We shouldn't have gotten a point based on the first half but should of had 3 based on the last bit. Next week is the Rangers. Must get three points there.

Half way through the season and it's very tight. It's time for teams to get revenge on the opposition they feel they should of had a better result against.
Predictions for the weekend
TriCity v Celtic. Week 1 they drew 0-0. Celtic is in form now and should win easily. 3-1
Sporting v Strikers 4-1 sporting in week 1, should be closer this time around. 2-2
Rowdies pounded FV Athletic in week 1 8-0. Closer but same result 4-1 Rowdies.
Rockets v Unicorns. 3-1 Rockets in week 1. Unicorns get some revenge and take it 2-1.
TWU Titans v Rangers. Trinitys only win came in week 1 and will get number 2 this week.
Benders v Highlanders. Benders won 3-2 in our first meeting. We feel we can beat them but Friday nights don't work well for some of us. Hope we have good numbers and get some points.

Big win for the Highlanders tonight, 2-1 over the Benders with a last minute winner off a corner.
Good battle by both teams, ended ugly with 2 reds for the Benders swearing at the ref. Lucky it didn’t happen earlier as a couple of their players were swearing at the ref and throwing/booting the ball at our players after the whistle in the second half.
Rowdies next week, should be another tough battle.

We moved the ball well in the first 20-30 and should’ve been up 3-0 at least, but for some reason could not finish. 4 legitimate 1-on-1s with the keeper and zero went in, he made a couple good stops and a couple straight at him. Finishing is not usually our weakness. They finished one of their first half chances then things went downhill. Game got out of hand a bit, ref could not keep control at all (unsurprising considering who it was and the past games he’s reffed us in).
We conceded an unnecessary penalty and a huge huge gaffe for #2 and #3. We started getting even more frustrated at his ridiculous reffing antics and conceded a bad 4th, got a few yellows, said some things we probably shouldn’t have to him but he was absolutely atrocious from the first whistle. He didn’t cost us the game at all, but i could go on and on about it. I’ll avoid doing that on here though.
We’ll try to bounce back next week vs Strikers.

The nasty conditions made for a bit of a scrappy game. We probably should have scored more than 3 but FV's keeper made a few good saves to keep them in it. Pretty clean/respectful game with maybe 5 fouls total. I think guys just wanted to get it over with and dry out. Might be a little more heated next week against highlanders seeing as we've picked up a red the last two times we've played but we're looking forward to playing a team in good form.

Highlanders 2 - 1 Rowdies
Another 90th minute winner in another great battle.
Another 90th minute winner in another great battle.
Hard fought 2-1 win for us tonight. We were able to contain their strikers limiting them to off balance shots they mostly put wide. Their real threats were on corners where they could of had a couple end up in our net. We missed a couple of sitters in the first half that should of had us up but 0-0 at half. Most of the game was even with each team carrying play for spells but no goals until we had a lapse and left their guy open in front in the 75th minute and we were down 1-0. We pulled off a defender and pushed to score and got it back quickly on one their keeper probably would like back. They pushed to win and we caught them in the 90th. Our winger got the ball on the endline, megged their defender and hammered a low hard ball into the box that our forward poked in. Great to get the win.
Week 14 Predictions
Benders 3-0 Unicorns. Benders need to keep pace and Unicorns fell to Rangers last week. Ugh.
Celtic 3-1 Sporting. MOTW. Celtic use their home field advantage to win this one. Could depend on the hearing for their red card. Will he get more than 1 game?
Rockets 1-2 Strikers. Mid table battle that the Strikers come away victors.
Rangers 0-2 TriCity. Rangers have been better, but not good enough to beat TriCity.

Highlanders 2-0 FV Athletic. Clean slow game on the grass. We scored 15 min in on a nice cross the body shot into the far corner. Second came on a PK after their keeper took out our striker when he went around him on a breakaway. 2-0 at half and they tried but couldn't get much in the second half. Looks like we sit idle next week as our game with TWU is postponed.
At the Christmas break the division is very tight at the top. Biggest surprise of the season so far for me is newly promoted Sporting staying near the top of the table this late going. Should be interesting to see the turkey legs come out after the break.
Benders 2-2 Strikers. Strikers are showing improvement and will battle hard with the Benders.
Rockets 2-3 Celtic. Celtic will hope to jump to the top of the standings this week

Township of Langley postponed our game (Highlanders) vs Unicorns cause of 'bad field conditions' . What an absolute joke. After about a month of not playing, due to Dec 16 game vs TWU being pp'd, it's so disappointing. Hopefully we can be in shape enough for our big game next week against Tri City.

We had somebody go the field a few hours ago as well, it’s in completely fine condition. Strange decision to postpone.

Celtic 2-0 Rockets
Good battle...one goal in each half, they move the ball decently but had troubles finishing. We scored one from 25 yards or so, nice finish (by me, thank you) and a glancing header off a corner.
Keeping things tight at the top, very curious about the Rowdies-Tri City result.

Good hard fought game. Tri city hit a post in the first and had some chances but I think we deserved the win and should have scored more. Scored our first on a pk and the second was a one v one with the keeper that was poked into the corner. Lots of cards but they weren't needed. Officiating was poor for both sides.

We finally get to play a game, as long as Cedar Park doesn't get shut down.
