Being a newbie to the VMSL... how and when are the cup draws done? The FVSL has theirs organized already (very shocking)...

Cheers,

VERY IMPORTANT NOTICE #6

2007-03-06

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2006-2007 LEAGUE CUP
Some time ago, we notified our members that there would be some changes in the League Cup procedures. These changes were caused by the horrible weather conditions that we have endured and the subsequent difficulties we have had in completing our schedule. Since that time, more changes have been made. Please check the following list of Cup competitions for the changes that have been made. The Division 1 Cup Draw and the Masters’ ‘A’ Cup draw will be held at the VMSL office on Saturday, March 10, 2007 at 10 a.m. The Division 2 Cup draw will be held at a later date. Also, please remember that the top 4 teams will be seeded in each cup competition. Teams that do not wish to participate in League Cup play should notify us immediately!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

IMPERIAL CUP: The Imperial Cup will be limited to 16 teams: all 14 Premier teams plus the first place teams in Division 1A and Division 1B.

DIVISION 1 CUP: The Division 1 Cup will be limited to 16 teams: 8 teams from Division 1A and 8 teams from Division 1B—chosen according to the standings.

DIVISION 2 CUP: The Division 2 Cup will be limited to 16 teams: 4 from Division 2A, 4 from Division 2B, 4 from Division 2C, 2 from Division 2CAT ‘A’, and 2 from Division 2CAT ‘B’—chosen according to the standings.

UNDER 21 CUP: The Under 21 Cup will remain the same as in the past. All 7 teams will participate in the cup. They will be divided into 2 groups and play a round-robin competition. The two top place teams in each group will advance to the semi-finals and the winners will participate in the final.

MASTERS’ ‘A’ CUP: The Masters’ ‘A’ Cup will be limited to 14 teams: all 12 Premier Division teams plus the 2 top teams in Division 1.

MASTERS’ ‘B’ CUP: Unfortunately, the Masters’ ‘B’ Cup will not take place this year. Too many Division 1 teams are too far behind in the regular schedule to allow us to hold a Masters’ ‘B’ Cup.
