the missing link....

The Highlanders are nothing without Beanbag the Human Couch.

Having said that, of course, hopefully the Highlanders can still rely on the blinding pace of Erker in the heart of their midfield. Surely he's the Luch or JR of the FVSL. He even lost a step after having his famous and quite lovely free-flowing salad cut off last summer.

When the Highlanders win the league, the Cup, and every other tin-shite compo they play in the Valley I might fly back for the party at casa Maxwell.

The Highlanders practice was very traditional with games of pig, high-ball and World Cup.

You may have forgotten the famous "shin-ball" drill -- a very intense drill requiring a high degree of skill, balance, coordination and raw talent!

We'll do our talking on the field this Sunday.

Ah yes...just what the Lions do best...Talk!!!

Good Luck to Munster on the weekend, a least one Lion will emerge a Champion!

Congradulations Highlanders

I would like to congradulate the Highlanders on making it to the finals. It must have done wonders for the elderly community to see some of their own make it this far without any heart attacks or broken hips. I really admire that. And to Oscar Goldman , who can only be Mr. Carruthers, you can drown your sorrows after your defeat at the hands of the young Lions, we'll bring you some Coors Light.

Santos lil helper

I would like to thank Santos lil helper for recognizing the impact that the Highlanders run has had on Senior's Homes throughout the lower mainland. In fact, I'm told that the gang was celebrating it up at the Pineview Villa last Friday night before they were given sedatives. You can be sure that the sidelines will be obstructed by a countless number of "able-walkers" ready to charge the field and celebrate our success. Buy your viagra stock now!

With regard to this age issue, I really think too much is being made of it. I know the Lions are frustrated by the fact that they still can't grow a playoff beard. Remember boys, puberty happens at different times for different people. Don't get frustrated and don't be scared by hair that pops up in unusual places. It's all part of nature's grand plan.

"Do you want some fries with that ....?"

Fcuking classic with the playoff beards and pubes.
Agreed... always nice to see a relatively new TTPer come up with some quality material rather than the standard you fcuking suck or I haven't received my money yet so I don't know if I can buy TTPers a beer

Lions win the cup

Gentlemen, it looks like the question of the ages has been answered, age really does beat beauty...is that right? i dunno, all i know is that it was a lions win, although, to be honest a little controversial, followed by a rangers win.....thanks to the highlanders for the great game, and the free beers, which turned out to be ours anyway, and y'all are welcome for the little bit of bbq we could spare......congrats to the rangers, i'm sorry to see some of the delta guys lose, but in general, i'm happy for the ranger win, hopefully we can meet them in a game this summer or maybe even the fall....have a good one to everyone that played today, and go canucks go

Not 1 but 3

There comes a time in a Lion's life when he must leave the youngsters in his pride to fend for themselves, regardless of how painful this may be.

Thanks to the other cheddars and wanna be cheddars on the back line for picking me up. Cheers!!

It looks as though the hand transplant must have worked, as joelie posted a bagel.

Once again Kevan comes through with a big goal.

I think I here the Lions singing "In the Jungle..." long into the night!

This ones for Barc and Matt; Munster and Cookie (both Lions at heart) did extremely well this weekend. I guess that means 3 championships for the Lions, making this Lion proud.

Well done KIDS!!!

Champions!

I would first like to start off by congradulating the Highlanders on making the final and playing a great game today. A little unlucky on Nate's goal called offside which, from what I was told was a good goal. A one goal victory was a fair result as we were full marks for the win, despite missing several quality chances to put the game away(especially myself).

Secondly , to those of you who doubted the young Lions abilities and thought we were only there because of an easy draw, I only have on word for you. CHAMPIONS.

Lions

Well done Lions!

It makes me feel a bit better, knowing the team that beat us went on to win the Cup.

I was having a chat with a fellow TTPer in the beer garden. For the life of me, can’t remember his posting name. Maybe he didn’t have one yet. Who the fcuk knows. I was well on my way to bed spin land by that point! A good group of guys. Funny, when I asked them if our goal that was called a no-goal in the PKs (the one I’m still bitter about) was a blown call by the ref, they all looked away and grinned. For a while there, I was starting to believe that 11 of our guys (plus me, on the sideline in my codeine induced rage) were imagining things. Apparently not!

To this I say: BASTAGE!

Anyhow, got a chance to meet several Lions and (I think) some Highlanders. I missed the game, but was told it was fairly clean, and both teams played hard. Great too see that you guys were able to show some class and hold your heads high. Your club has taken a shite kicking lately (how’s that nose, #9?:p ), albeit in the PR department. From the guys I met, all class acts. I think. Then again, that could have occurred in my dream, while I was passed out in the car as my very angry, pregnant wife drove my sorry ass home.

Still bitter after all these weeks, and fighting a nasty hangover to boot,

Dude.

round one, vs royals

Alright, as i am the goalie that SAVED the infamous penalty shot in the penalty kicks against the royals, i'd like to set the story straight...it was not a goal, i'm sorry guys, as much as u would like to believe it, and answer the question of why u were knocked out, the ball was pushed against the crossbar and bounced ahead of the line...i've heard a story that it hit the second crossbar in the net, point- there was no second crossbar, secondly, the net moved cause it was a ****in hard shot, i won't lie to u, i was a little lucky to get may hand on it, and to guess right that he was gonna just drill it at me...although he did take a shot before the ref blew his whistle, and drilled that one straight down the middle, and then set up the exact same way for the real shot...but i just wanted to write this to confirm that the ball never entered the net on that shot...the shooters foot, my hand, the crossbar, the ground, no net, and no imaginary crossbar

There must have been a second shooter...

IT WAS IN DAMMIT! You're the keeper...of course you'll say you saved it! Isn’t that what you told the ref when he approached you and asked if it went in?

Stillbitter.
(Congrats on winning the Cup though;))
