Bowen Island FC seasonal goals for 2013-2014:

1. Try to get at least 11 guys to each game.
2. Spend enough money in the bowen pub after practices to get them to sponsor us next year.
3. Enjoy the feeling of relief felt by our opponents when they realize they don't have to come to Bowen to play us.
4. Convince most of the guys not to get too altered the night before games.
4. Score the odd goal and, with any luck, maybe even win a game or two.

Pacifica WTFC goals this year? Don't suck as bad as last year. And on a personal note, enjoy my hungover Sundays.
For predictions, Vancouver Strikers are a very good club if they have most of the same guys who played on their CAT team last year. They were a CAT team just because they didn't have any options to play higher other than starting in Div3. They didn't move players with their affiliate. I guess they decided to bite the bullet and start at the bottom. They could be this year's Metropolitan. Div3A will be between them, Strathcona and Serbia.
One other point. Who the F picked 6pm Saturday as a game time in Surrey? You wankers.

Great day in the sun yesterday for Bowen FC, who managed to accomplish most of their seasonal goals in our first game in VMSL. We got 11 guys, most weren't so impaired from the night before that they could actually play, we scored some goals and actually won a soccer game. Got a bit of luck by going up early on Twin Arrows and they hit the post twice. Some nice technical play from both sides at times, with Bowen having more opportunities overall. But, neither side was looking very match fit and the game could have easily gone another way. Will say this for Twin Arrows. Nothing to TTP about here. Nicest bunch of guys in Div. 3 I bet and if we'd had a case at the field we'd have been partying with them after the game.

Celtic 3 Mr. Base's Lamy Fruckers 1. Good start with as many old farts on the field as young guys for us. 2 for Fabio, 1 for Rinaldi and 1 for his shoe flying into the net.

Had a good match Vs Astro yesterday, pleasant and a fair guys, no arseholes to be seen. Don't think they'll be short on players at any point during the season, they looked to have a squad of about 35 there! In contrast we couldn't even manage to start the game with 11!

Had a good match Vs Astro yesterday, pleasant and a fair guys, no arseholes to be seen. Don't think they'll be short on players at any point during the season, they looked to have a squad of about 35 there! In contrast we couldn't even manage to start the game with 11!

Bowen Island versus Signmasters on Sunday, with the Signs winning 3-2 over our (mostly) young and inexperienced Bowen lads. Pretty good technical first half for both teams but the second half turned into an ugly kick fest. Finishing from both sides was pretty grim but the Signs had the edge in play and, to be fair, their first goal was nice. Absolutely no defensive shape to speak of from the Boners although the game ended in a couple of goal mouth scrambles that nearly pulled out a draw. Fun game where we managed to get 11 reasonably unimpaired guys again. Awesome.

There is a divide on the island between those prudish folks who insist on "Bowenian" and those who simply accept that Bowen islanders will never shake the Bowener/Boner label. For us, its all about embracing the tumescence.

Jeez, someone who remembers the pee wee Bowen Arrows. Funny thing is that there are 6 guys on the BIFC men's team who played on the Arrows, like, 10-12 years ago.
The Arrows were mighty cheesed on Saturday when fackin Uncle Fatih didn't show up for our game....
