Be careful with Canadian Potash oldtimer... the market took a significant bump up overall when BHP was making a play for Potash Corp of Saskatchewan, yesterday PCS ended off approximately in the same neighborhood price wise as when BHP started their push.. Urakali has probably killed Potash Solution Mining companies/projects in Canada. Traditional potash mining is very different than Potash Solution Mining, which has a higher cost to produce but is much more environmentally sensitive and requires less workforce, which means heavy duty up front costs, and Potash Solution Mines will have a VERY Difficiult time raising capital to build and move into production
Thanks for the heads up JBN, of course I follow all the talking heads on BNN and all the news I get from my advisor so I've heard all that, and I know you're in the "business" so I appreciate the info, sometimes its hard to figure out who to listen to.....for the most part I've done OK mostly with the American blue chip stocks(can't go wrong with those)so we'll see with POT.....can't trust those Russkies though
I think it is a buying opportunity. The world is going to shite, even major blue chippers are hard done by. If I had 100 pennies on the sidelines, 25 of them went in today.
I wanted to learn about the whole stock world but it really seems it is all a crap shoot... not sure if you have heard of NeuLion but their stock went from $1.50 to $0.47 in a little over 10 days based on the NHL moving to a digital partnership with MLB's digital arm... this despite the NHL business being only about 10% of the company's total revenue which had be dropping more and more over the last 2 years.
