I have to confess something to you all… I never really know how to start these things until I sit down and start punching the keys. Literally, a prophetic 99 monkeys banging on 99 type writers analogy would fit in nicely here I’m sure, that is, if I could remember how it went.

I believe in doing things properly though and not to short changing my readership so I really do feel a intro is a integral part of the whole build up, be it soccer related or other. It’s an important, but all to easily dispensed of part of setting the mood before we embark in to the actual act of the weekend that was, though that said; and after doing it for a few weeks now to the same old response, I have to say more than monkeys and type writers the intro to Talking out my Ass is much like sex with-in a marriage than anything else I can think of.

You really don’t want the foreplay, but it’s nice when you get it, but overall you’re simply just prolonging the enviable and predictable unsatisfying ending.

You all should be so lucky this is that quick…

Anyway, since I’ve not said so yet, insert a Thomas Mills is fat joke here and away we go…

Poco 3 PortMoody 0

They match unfortunately didn’t live up to its facebook group hype. No really, someone created a facebook group for this game. I wish I was smart enough to make something like that up. Sometimes you just need to take comedy when it comes to you and let the act alone be funny enough.

To the game it’s self now, well, neither of my ASSes where really in talkative moods this week, one doesn’t like losing and didn’t have much to add after a hard loss and the other could have been, but he was just sitting down to his dinner at the time buffet.jpg

Both have reported to me though that 18 year old Matt Rosenlund played well and twisted poor Lukas Bennett into the ground on a number of occasions. Goal scores were the aforementioned Roselund, Jeremy Boileau, Richy Norman. I did get this from my moody ass. (it’s funnier if I don’t have to point the puns out)

"First game I felt we deserved to lose to be honest. Actually I don't think poco didn't looked that good to me but they attacked well when they did have the ball but we just held on to the ball and never "really" threatened."

"To be honest it looks like we get intimidated by any of the known better teams. Poco scored three nice goals on us, and Matt Roselund looked wicked in his dribbling technique. Although we scored zero I can see why an ACBC will always beat a Poco. Defense with a fast counter attack."

Chilliwack 1 vs North Delta 1

Delta controlled most of the play in the first half and had a lot of shots but kept putting them right at the goalie. Chilliwack had a couple opportunities late in the half but didn't really test Delta's keeper at all

In the Second half more of the same as most of the play was spent in Chilliwack's end but still Delta couldn't finish. 15 min to the second and totally against the run of play, I’m told, a clearance from a corner kick sent a streaking streaking.jpg Chilliwack player who we will call Frank (Cody Derksen) for the sake of argument and he unleashed a wicked left footer into the top right corner of the net to make it 1-0. With about 15min left to play Delta finally scores off a cross which found its way through to Jeff Crawford who had an easy side footer past the sprawling Chilliwack keeper. Delta continued the pressure but couldn't get the go ahead goal.

GEU 0 vs PAU 1

Our 3rd Friday night match played out at the beautifully manicured Albion sports complex featuring the slumping GEU United hosting the hot and cold boys in blue, PAU. That sounded a little limp wristed I know. Sorry, I’m trying to watch Glee and type at the same time. Glee_logo.jpg

PAU tried to play a much more controlled match than the track meet a week previous vs ACBC and for the most part they certainly controlled the pace of play if not the game itself. GEU to their credit work very hard off the ball and caused PAU to kick the ball away on many occasions. With the possession the chances started to come. Jackson Reeve had a header cleared from the line from a Ryan Horvath corner kick. 5 minutes later Mike Evens AND Liam Breen both had efforts cleared literally from the goal line.

It wasn’t until late in the second half when the new comer Kazunori Kikuchi (Kaz) let fly a low drive through traffic, unlike Hleucka’s drives previous that ended up IN traffic, Kaz’s found it’s way right to the waiting hands of the GEU GK, if it weren’t for the GK trying to throw the ball before he actually caught it, the ball never would have gone in the net. Gaff of the night to say the least, for the GK who otherwise played really well to keep his team in it. (I didn’t catch his name, sorry) On one side line it could it could have been 10-1, from the other I’m sure it could be said 2-1 the other way would have been fair.

LUFC 2 – Aldergrove 1

The game on Saturday was a pretty good affair, I’m told. Aldergrove controlled the majority of the first half and took the lead midway through it when Val Romanchuk turned in a rebound as Wagner could only parry a Wes Halliday long-range effort so far. Langley slowly got into the game late in the first half and got an equalizer as Flint got his head onto a long ball into the box after a corner was only half-cleared. Later Mike Baldwin struck the cross bar from free kick before the rebound was ballooned over the bar from 6 yards,

Langley started the 2nd half with a renewed work rate and took the lead at the 60 minute mark with after a wicked shot from Carlos Del Aguila hit the bar and fell nicely to Mike Perry to nodded it in with his head. Predicably in a 2-1 game there was lots of late pressure from Aldergrove but nothing overly dangerous. Langley were closer to getting a third on the counter attacks than Aldergrove were to finding the equalizer. Mike Baldwin again the glue that holds Aldergrove together.

And of course another worldly performance from Chuck Tugboat Keeling, I’m told. I reached out to Chuck's people, but I think I got big timed, but I did have a chance to speak to a representative close to Chuck about his play and the rumors that he’s only good for knocking long balls. “Chuck Keeling doesn’t play long balls… the ball is scared of Chuck and running away from him.” He said. I said I don't follow,

“It goes back to Newton's Third Law being incorect: Although it states that for each action, there is an equal and opposite reaction, there is no force equal in reaction to a Chuck Keeling long ball.”

Tugboat edit.jpg

Fair enough.

ACBC, FFS, 8 vs Abbotsford 0

Like the game my Abby report didn’t show up. 10 players and 1 had to play in net. A glowing advertisment for the 3 best teams to leave the FVSL Premier.

Thanks for coming. Or not as the case may be. Goals by:

Sailihovic 2
Otieno 2
Diaz Kambere 2
Jethro Kambere
Kule Kambere

Player of the week this week is a dual honor and go to Mr and Mrs Kambere for bumping uglies and creating 4 of ACBC’s 8 goals.

There you have it, the weekend that was…

There you have it, the weekend that was…

Wow. :D (<rareley used smiley). I can hear the Great Canadian Casino ad department hard at work from here. Something tells me it'll be my ass, not yours, getting the beat down. That said, since it'll be Chuck's work, I suppose he has the right...after all, it isn't my space he'll be violating, it's his space that he's allowing me to use.

I actually heard that the last time Chuck knocked a long ball, he did it whilst sneezing with both eyes open. Incredible.

I watched the last 30 minutes of Langley / Aldy. I felt it was a game that Langley has become known for over the past several seasons...which isn't an insult. Over all the changing faces in the line-up, Langley has always had a knack of getting 3 points on days when things just aren't flowing for them. When I watched, it wasn't flowing well. They were struggling to maintain possession, and Aldergrove seemed to be doing a good job at plugging things up to steal a point. Langley just didn't seem in synch, but they continued w/ the work-rate, and in the end gutted out all three points.

I've seen the second halves of three games this year w/ Langley...three different styles, same three results. I’m real interested to see how this team competes next year, because I think it is obvious they will earn it, and I think it is where they need to go to get truly tested. LFC123 will make personel changes, as always, and my bet is they will compete just fine, even surprise some people.

And, good point...how bad if the FVSL going to look w/ out Langley, PAU, and ACBC? I think it needs to be done, but man...for all those years the VMSL snobs claimed the FVSL couldn't beat a VMSL Div. 1 squad...next year it may actually be true.

Thanks Dude. It’s a good thing Mr. Keeling isn’t an influential member of the community, or a corporate bigwig. I’m sure he’ll be nothing but positive this weekend and be fine with me splattering his name and face all over the internet. Right?

BTW, to keep with the theme, like my marriage, I'm always looking for new ASS to get with. Apply with-in if you're interested. Abby, has all but given up on me (and the season) and Ive not got a contact at either GEU or Chilliwack.

I don't think you have anything to worry about w/ Tugboat. He's harmless. Besides, I don't think he works, unless a spending all your time at Harrison Lake on a wakeboarding boat is considered working. That said, I wouldn't at all be surprised to see a Mr. Dave Hirlinka sponsoring a horse's ass at Fraser Downs in the near future.

As for the other type of ASS, I will volunteer to be both Chiliwack and Aldergrove. I know nothing about them, never see them play, don't know when they play, or even what...but this lack of knowledge has never stopped me before.
