Empire Fields Parking

So with games now being scheduled at this park for the VMSL, anyone know if there will be FREE parking at the facility?

$10 last weekend for the Masters event but not sure if that was a one-off for a 'special' event.

They have installed meters and I think it is pay parking every time all the time...

You can always drive around the area and get discounted parking on the neighbours grass...always lots of neighbours in that area willing to sell some discounted parking.... ...oh wait I meant...

I didn't pay anything and no attendees when I went on Friday for Westside's first game. I parked at the bottom parking lot by the race tracks. I believe it's pay parking at the parking lot off of Hastings.

I agree it sucks to be paying $10 each game at Empire but I was told that it will be free at some point in October. The upper parking lot (Hastings) is pay meter parking though.

The parking situation at Empire is idiotic. If you're lucky, there's no event on ie Giants, fright night, horse racing, justin beiber.....it's almost as bad or worse then Andy Livingston. Ten bones per car is serious beer money.

I'm sure they will fix it once the tracks shut down for the season. If they already haven't. Just imagine being the home team that plays there every second weekend. Nuts!

Teams that have to play there as their home pitch should have some sort of reimbursement program for player parking.

My son plays for Vancouver FC (Metro) and they're considering switching from Livingston to Empire…so that's 2 training sessions and a game every second week. DOH!

I like Livingston as you can park one block away for free underneath Tinseltown.

Also want to point out that Vancouver Park's Board is going to spend $450,000 on pretend bleachers at Empire Park.... and there are no real bleachers for spectators to sit.

How the fcuk can they justify this expenditure?

People probably couldn't take this seriously and that's why they didn't voice an opinion during the "public consultation" process. Fcuk, save the $50,000 that was probably spent on the 'consultation' and post a poll here on TTP... you'll get free opinions to tell you how fcuking stupid this is.

You could have keep the Empire Field stadium up for $450,000 I bet.

Don't forget there's also a campaign to rename "Empire Fields & Plateau Park." The reason behind that is supposedly that people aren't using the park because they don't know it's there, but a catchy name will draw them in!
