"It seems like the Toronto FC have finally found the international star they were looking for.
According to reports from the Daily Mirror, Tottenham Hotspur striker Jermain Defoe has agreed to join the Canadian MLS team on a four-year deal worth £90,000 ($154,000) a week.
The 31-year-old, who has been relegated to a backup role after Tottenham acquired Roberto Soldado in the summer, is looking for more playing time as he aspires to be part of England's World Cup squad in 2014.
Defoe has 19 goals in 55 caps for the English national team and appeared in the 2010 World Cup."

$154,000/week for a 31-year old Defoe who lost his spot with Tottenham and obviously cannot find another club in Europe! $154,000 a week!!! Somebody is crazy at TFC. And what will Mr. Base say? Defoe is only 1.67 m (and 65 kg)!

Rumors also had Miroslav Klose being looked at by the Galaxy, although they have 3 DP spots already with Landy cakes, Keane and Gonzalez. Does anyone think that our "poor pitch" (even fifa approved but no one likes it apparently) is a cause of us not getting that "big name" that clubs are seeming to get. TFC has been shite for years, Vancouver "the worlds nicest city" (people apparently want to live here) but we can't sign marquee guys. (obviously management doesn't help either)
