He has faced the ultimate challenge - personal glory to stack his stats with a CL team or grab the $$$. I would think at his current wealth, charging after the money in a tertiary league would not be the decision. But perhaps there was no CL team that wanted anything to do with him and his attitude. I can just imagine the number of times each game he will be rolling his eye, making his pissed off face when a teammate didn't pass to him.

Because on an elite team he isn’t a starter and he’s made it clear he’s not a player that runs about for 15-20 min trying to get a goal. I’m sure he’s a guaranteed starter and can do his thing for $200million
