The community is almost unrecognizable from about 5 years ago. That is a legitimate sports complex now.

I assume that there is a stadium similar to MacLeod going up? @Rangerforever ?

Back before they went to the Island, the plan in Langley was to build stadium on the land that is SouthWest of that overpass that opened last year or so. Deal fell through or something and that's why landed on the Isle.

I couldn't find anything on said stadium, either. I mean, location makes sense, in terms of being central and all that, but the traffic is gonna be nuts. That being said, I suppose if they can handle full houses for the Giants, they can handle 5,0000 for a soccer game.

Back to this....given how much quality the city has put into facilities, I have really high hopes. I'm thinking this is a Grandstand first, moving to a permanent 5,000 seat facility. Really hope so, anyways. Hope this can be my club to support!

Honestly, what's the best name?

Fraser Valley FC?
Fort FC?
Langley United? (My sentimental choice)

Unfortunately, Langley doesn't exactly inspire a lot of great names.....

"Langley" will never be a consideration, pretty sure.

The LEC installed a new turf field in 2020, and the site was developed in a way that would make stadium expansion easy. There are now plans for an 8,000 seat stadium that includes suites, and Friend is confident the township and team can have it constructed in time for kickoff in 2023. He pointed to the modular design of Empire Field as an example of how quickly construction can happen.
