Seems harsh for Peg to lose narrowly to defending league champs and get ranked second to last in their division in Campo's VMSL Rankings

The rankings will all the teams. With time, they should start to reflect the relative strength of each team. No need to into detailed arguments about them. It is just an opinion based on statistics. You can see it as just a tool to highlight and identify the performance of some teams.

Overall, the results of last week were among the expectations of the rankings. The only that they had off last week was the Westside/Rinos, because it expected a different outcome.

So you were expecting a Rino's win, is that what you are saying? Or just a different scoreline?

I think, as you have said before, your algorithm fails to take into account past data. Ie teams like Westside, Pegasus, etc. who finished higher in their leagues last year but were off to slow starts. Player availability varies wildly from week to week as Rick G so eloquently described in your other thread, so these types of results will occur regularly. Also, once the college players get into the league it will all shift again (see Inter, Peg, etc.) and after Christmas, the new year is a whole new ball game.
