I started foreshadowing and planning ahead as well. Gonna be surreal should they make it and to top it off, Following a world cup leading into the xmas holidays

Fly to Dubai. I looked a couple of weeks ago - it's way, way cheaper and from there you can practically swim to Qatar if necessary (if you're Michael Phelps that is).

The thing that damped my spirits was the steps necessary to make it happen. FIFA lottery, for which every potential attendee needs to submit their passport info etc... then there's the entry visa to get into Qatar, etc etc etc... annoying.
