Exciting, fast-paced and hard checking game. Too bad the ref tried his best to ruin the game, but in the end his piss-poor performance had little impact on the final result as a draw was deserved. However, I can see why the Roos are not that well respected in the league...

In Victoria in the 90s (not sure what they do now) the leagues trained 17-19 year olds to run the line and paid them $15 per game (i know inflation would change that now). They did a great job and many turned into referees once in their 20s.

Again, the refs need to be evaluated at least twice per season to ensure they are capable (because that is all we are asking for in Div 2). Bring in linesmen too as I am sure each team can afford an additional $25 per game to help out the refs on the offsides which create way too much...

Their mid-fielder (Yoshi?) should get about 5 or more games for threatening the ref... Not sure how those refs face the weekend knowing that someone will berate them each game.

Compared to our usual shared-home pitch, Trimble, I think Jericho will be better. The east side of the pitch is quite bumpy and bereft of a full head of hair, but what field in Div 2 is perfect? Hard to say how it will drain, but with the bog right next to it there is the potential...
