Canada Soccer announced on Friday a change to the clubs competing in the 2024 TELUS Canadian Championship. Following the withdrawal of 2023 League1 BC champions Victoria Highlanders, TSS Rovers will now represent L1BC after finishing as runners-up in the league’s 2023 regular season. TSS Rovers will occupy the same spot in the bracket vacated by Highlanders, meaning they’ll take on Canadian Premier League side Pacific FC at Starlight Stadium in a preliminary round tie on Wednesday, May 1 (7 p.m. PT/10 p.m. ET). This will be Rovers’ second appearance in the Canadian Championship after making their debut in 2023. In that campaign, they pulled off a historic upset by defeating Valour FC in the first round before bowing out against Pacific, whom they’ll take on again this year. The 2024 TELUS Canadian Championship kicks off on Tuesday, April 23 when Cavalry FC play Vancouver FC.
