Great for Canada to be in Pot 1 and have a chance to avoid the US and Mexico until the semis where we can hopefully push to lift the trophy. Winning is a mindset and we have been good lately, but it needs to begin to translate into silverware in this competition and the Gold Cup as well.
Being in the A-League means games on only 4 of the 6 possible match days, so it will also be nice to see what other matches CSA can line up. No longer are we forced to spend these windows slogging are way around the Caribbean because we HAVE to play St. Kitts or Dominican Republic or Cuba, etc.
Speaking of the Gold Cup, I was looking at the schedule for it and it looks like the Nations League finals are right before the Gold Cup starts in 2023... gonna be a crazy time!
Aha! I knew there was a Nations League Thread somewhere already... @Regs feel free to nuke the one I started in the "Canada" section.
Canada vs. Curacao Thursday June 9 at BC Place.
Canada then play away in Honduras, also in June.
Reverse fixtures are in March.
Still rumors of a "Tier 1" friendly but no news as of yet. Would have to think that would also be at BC Place given the team's focus on reducing travel etc. Wait and see I guess though...
After going thru the workd cup qualifers and the pressure each game placed on the players and fans today seemed like a snooze fest.
Good win but need to be much better in the final third. Curaco looked tired after two games. Hopefully the Honduras game Monday increases the intensity.
