I made good on my promise to buy seasons tickets. First time I've bought any seasons since mini Dude was about 10 and I was taking him to WCFC matches at Swanguard.
Mini Dude is away in the States racing his bike this weekend, and I'm at a wedding. If anyone wants a couple of tix, let me know and I'll e-mail them.
On opening day I went looking to see if I could spot a real quality and pace difference from the Provincial Cup matches I attended, and honestly, at times felt the Men's premier game was a bit faster, and certainly harder tackling.
There was some nice skill on display, this Zach Verhoven kid is fun to watch, if not likely maddening for a coach. He hangs onto the ball way too long, but a lot of the time still makes something happen. Never seems to be a simple pass, simple give and go w/ this kid, but he doesn't lack the balls of pace / skill to take someone on.
I'm interested to hear opinions re: level of play vs. the local Premier leagues.
Going forward, interested to see where the TSS / Canadian PDL teams line up w/ the CPL. Affiliated, maybe?
