I'm in shock!

Correct me if I'm wrong but with Ireland recording a 1-0 victory just moments ago, are the Dutch not now eliminated?

Nevermind that they cost the TTP Willhill account to dwindle to $0 (I haven't been updating the account info due to, well, embarrassment :D), but the Dutch to me have always been one of the highlights in terms of the way they play in all the World Cups gone by.

Bigun and KNVB must be crying in their pints right about now.

In another result, Scotland and Croatia drew nil-nil. I have no idea how this one affects either team going through.

great...

The Dutch never came to grips with the commitment shown by the Irish and Roy Keane made me eat my words today by putting in a wonderful performance where he must've run half a marathon. Flipping over to Sky 3, the Scots/Croatia match was dull in comparison and not made much better by the objectionable Croat diving to 'facilitate justice'. Scotland and Croatia are tied on points and in second place in their group. Holland look to be fcuked. Which is a great, great shame. Not a bad day of football so far with the big match still to come against the hun.

Off to the pub, Fastshow.

I'm shattered.

Apparently it was all Holland. BBC report suggests they could have had 4 easy and one questionable no call on an apparent PK (not that they have demonstrated an ability to make those). Ireland scored the winner in the second half with only 10 men. Not many chances for the Irish but they made the most of the one that presented itself. Hats off to them for that.

I'm going to sit and enjoy something courtesy of the Irish. 4 or 5 cold Kilkenny.

Cheers

Fcuking brilliant

The Irish were full value for their win today. The Dutch lacked any sort of creativity that could have broken down the Irish. Fasty was absolutely right when he talked about the desire. Ireland really wanted that win. Holland didn't appear to want or need the win as much. It was a great atmosphere down at the Croatian Center, especially when McAteer scored. I never would have backed Ireland when they were down to 10 men with 30 minutes to go. Keane was exceptional today. He won everything he went for and kept possession when they needed it. So to all you Roy Keane bashers, fcuk you.

Owen was amazing. It's been quite a while since I've really seen someone play the position as well as he did today. Every touch was magic.

Germany was disgusting. The first 20 minutes was about all they were good for, although, had they been able to hold on to a 2-1 score for a while longer, it would have made for a far better game. As Owen single-handedly sunk them at the start of the second, he clearly put all of his critics to rest.

The loss I can live with. The score I can live with. I only wish that all the goals had come closer to the end. For a match so anticipated and with so much going for it, it deteriorated into a boring, pathetic display of international soccer (not to mention the German idiot at the Alpen Club swearing at the top of his lungs infront of all the young kids and families -- no class).

All that will be remembered from this game will be Owen's hat-trick and the final score. Nothing more.

Liverpool 5 Hun 1

The hangover I am about to have is well worth it as England beat the krauts hands down, despite some cheeky cnut using 'blue' language' at the Alpen Club. Whatever the fcuk that is. The way Gerrard and Becks took the piss in the final 20 when the hun had packed it in and sent their families to the Costa Del Sol to secure some sun beds with their infernal beach towels was something to behold. Michael Owen on a blinder with goals made in Manchester and Hesky scoring and providing for one despite being a step behind all night.

Before the hyperbole begins from the English press let me just say that England were good, despite a back line looking shakier than Audrey Hepburn in a helicopter but Germany were complete shite, possibly the worst side they've ever fielded. Shame Rudi Voeller won't be able to get it up for his plethora of porn contracts, why is Hun-land stuck in the 1980's, shave the 'tache for charidee and sort out the mullet you sad cnut, Rude, there's a sport. Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch.
