How good was that this morning to get up and watch England v. Wales. Thank you Sportsnet.

England in full command today against a Welsh team that had its moments but also drifted out of the game badly for long spells. This could of easily been six nothing if Owen or Rooney would of buried just one or two of their numerous opportunities. Good possession game by England though they were given a lot of time on the ball with very little pressure from the Welsh. Rio looked solid on his return, Robinson really didn't have a lot to do and Owen, Rooney and Defoe all hooked up well. Lampard and Beckham with the goals. Beckham's being an absolute cracker from outside the box that curled top right with Jones having no chance.
Only damper was Beckham's stupid behaviour which got him a yellow and one game suspension for a premeditated retaliation foul.

Thanks again Sportsnet - Fukcing Magic.!!!!!

Cheers

You are absolutely spot on Crafty, me old radish....the only other thing I would add is Micheal Owens days as a English National Team player have to be numbered....Sven has got to make him sit on the bench or just get rid of the tosser....

Hope so - Owen and Defoe are too similar - would like to see Smith and Defoe - Defoe has a first touch and Smith (who has a very good first touch) would give England a threat in the air.

Owen has live on his "Argie" goal for far too long....

Bucky-- Did you see the Scotland - Norway match yesterday.

If so how was it and how did Scotland look yesterday?

By the way, Ireland tying France is a good result for us on any day.

Please do not tell me that Italy was unlucky to Slovenia. 1 - 0 Slovacks.(82nd minute. )

Holland 2 - Macedonia 2, that's as good as a loss for de Dutch.

And lastly, Leitchtenstein 2 - Portugal 2. Home or away, these games should have been won by the favored teams.

Great result for the English boys on Saturday, outplayed Wales in every part of the pitch.
As for every one screaming to drop Owen.....why?? Has only scored in almost 30 of his 60 games. Has this uncanny knack for scoring in big games...anyone remember Portugul, Germany, Argentina, Brazil???

Struggling lately so lets dump him from the team!! Give me a fcuking break, he is no Henry or even Rooney he just scores goals. So if Rooney has a bad streak should we drop him?? As for Owen and Defoe bieng too similar maybe...but drop Owen in favour for Defoe?

I hope Sven does drop Owen so we can see Defoe sh*t the bed and you can all scream for Owen back.

Ken-o,

Absolutely no confidence, very little skill and poorly organized. Almost like watching the Canadian side, really. Painful viewing, indeed.

Why McBerti hasn't been axed is a mystery. He's had long enough with the program with no improvements. Strachan's the man for the job.....or Rangers.

Liked the England side with three up front. Rooney was extremely dangerous in the holding position. Why everyone is calling for Owen's head is a mystery? He was dangerous for most of the match and was unlucky not to score.....although he's claiming the first one. Stay with the three up front. Thoughts?

Italia - fcukin' shambles that side.

C'mon Hrvatska!

Scottish Football Association chief executive David Taylor says Berti Vogts' future as Scotland manager is safe - for now.
Taylor told BBC Scotland that no action would be taken to remove Vogts from the post while an arithmetical possibility of World Cup qualification remained.

More bad news, thank god for the touchline ban.

Actually, that's not a bad call Bucky.

Was the peno call legit?
I think it was called later in the match no?

Not that I'm surprised but a tie, even at home, would have be OK against that side.

RF,

It was a great one-handed save by the defender on the line. Magic save, though. They should have put him in net for the spotter. ;)

Rf and Bucky.

I disgree, Strachan at this time is not the man for the job. Tommy Burns should be put in charge until the SFA has had time to shortlist the candidates.
Burns already has a good repore with the boys, and as Bazza said they are already listening to him anyway.

Moldova 1-1 Scotland

Vogts disappointed but defiant
Scotland player ratings
Scotland's World Cup qualification hopes took another massive dent as they were held to a draw by Moldova.
The Scots had the better of the first half but they found themselves a goal down in 28 minutes when Serghei Dadu swivelled and scored from six yards.

Steven Thompson equalised three minutes later with a shot through the legs of Moldovan keeper Evghenii Hmaruc.

Moldova were on top after the break but Dadu and his team-mates passed up the chances that came their way.

Scotland were first on the attack and it was Stevie Crawford who came close to opening the scoring. The striker beat Serghei Lascencov for pace before attempting to catch Hmaruc by surprise with an early shot that flew just over the bar.

The bumpy pitch was proving a major challenge to players attempting even the most basic of manouevres, but Barry Ferguson was only inches wide with a low drive from the edge of the box.

Scotland had a decent penalty claim turned down midway through the first half when Thompson headed the ball down, only for Crawford to be prevented from latching onto the knock-down as his marker tugged his jersey, but the referee saw nothing amiss.

Moldova took the lead with their first effort on goal. Dadu collected Ghenadie Olexici's cross with his back to goal and he was able to turn Gary Caldwell and lash the ball past Craig Gordon.

Barry Ferguson was influential in the first half
Scotland were soon level though. Darren Fletcher's cross landed at Thompson's feet via the head of a Moldovan defender and the striker knocked the ball through the legs of the goalkeeper.

Gordon came to Scotland's rescue right at the start of the second half when he tipped a fierce volley from Dadu round the post.

Serghei Covalciuc drove the ball wide from the edge of the box and Iulian Bursuc did likewise as Moldova dominated the opening stages of the second period.

Colin Cameron tested Hmaruc from long-range but the keeper was equal to the task.

Dadu missed an excellent opportunity after 74 minutes when he headed over the bar from only eight yards out with no Scotland player near him and the same player forced Gordon to look lively from a 20-yard free kick.

Crawford hit a tame effort at Hmaruc from a good position before Rogaciov shot wide at the other end when he should have scored.

Substitute Lee McCulloch tried to beat Hmaruc from distance with a few minutes left, but again the keeper was behind the shot.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Moldova: Hmaruc, Savinov, Lascencov, Olexici, Catinsus, Priganiuc, Covalciuc, Ivanov, Rogaciov, Bursuc, Dadu.

Any word on locations for the Italia / Scotland match, preferably on or near the N. Shore? I believe it is an 11:45am kick-off.

Let's hope for a 0 - 0 game and have it abandoned due to fights on the field and stands, with both teams having 3 points deducted. I couldn't see it any other way.

Come on, Ireland.
