Presser announced for this morning with the rumour the Caps will announce a friendly with Man City @ Empire Field on July 25th.

Didn't the Caps play City way back in the old days once?

Re: Whitecaps Friendly Rumour - Man City

I think there is one ticket in your booklet of tickets that is "open" - but that might be a potential appearance in the Nutrilite Championship finals? I guess we'll find out soon enough with the Montreal home & away coming up soon.

Re: Whitecaps Friendly Rumour - Man City

I know last year when I saw them in Portland, they had an entire section just for the City fans (yes they are out there). So I wonder how it will work here? Anyway great news for me.

Hopefully Bolo and Tevez are still a part of the squad by then... looking forward to it.

Re: Whitecaps Friendly Rumour - Man City

Will Tevez be playing for Argentina in the Nations Cup as a warm-up?

I would be surprised if Tevez is still with City, but I don't see why Bolo wouldn't be.

Too bad! Us United supporters could have got our own section and serenade him with our favourite song about him...

Is there any information from the season ticket holders, on whether tickets will be available to the public? and if so when?

i called the ticket office yesterday, they told me that season ticket holders will have first grabs at extra tickets, then they will be made available to us. If you was planning on buying group tickets though, the guy said that they doubt they will be offering them for this game.

And they will install a grass pitch for it...Why not make it permanent?

Cause the lions would destroy it after there first game. I would love to see the caps back on grass but as long as they share a field with the lions it's never going to happen. What a shame because they have proved with swanguard that a grass field can work in Vancouver for professional soccer.

how will it work with the football lines and the soccer lines. thats gonna be a dogs breakfast of a mess.

The grass will be in for the Saturday match vs RSL, for Monday vs City, then removed. There will not be any lines on it.
