This is an amzing discovery, and although the scientists are somewhat being cautious, it is well known that where there has been water, at the very minimum you would have had tiny organisms living. There still may be water trapped in ice underground, and along with it, possible aquatic life. Very interesting.
I found the part about the water carving out the canyons very interesting.
Although in no way does it prove that human type people lived on the red planet, it does go a long way in proving that at minimum, life, even in it's most basic form, my have existed on the red planet.
