Silly questions, perhaps.

But how does one go about becoming a VMSL referee? I'm a player and have little experience as a referee in soccer, but have reffing experience from hockey. Are there courses available?

I went to Guatemala for my ticket. Tough environment but it toughened me up. I received my ticket from a Crackerjack Box. It's all good. I can now ref in Division 6 FVSL if I choose.

Sign up for a weekend of enlightenment at HOME. That should get you your ticket but you're going to have to get really cozy with Walks if you want to get anywhere reffing in the VMSL. Or you can just buy Captain a pint of Guiness at O'hares.

So I know Kevin Duliba does a lot of the Whitecaps games, but I am watching the TFC game right now and I swear this guy is a VMSL ref too... Marco I believe is his name. Can anyone confirm? If so, it's kinda neat to see a guy who has been refereeing in our league since his early 20's move up to work in MLS :)

Congrats Marco if you happen to read this!

Yes, that is Marco. We were watching the reserve game after the MLS game at BMO and he was nice enough to come up to see us. He still occasionally runs the line for the VMSL and PCSL.

Heard from a friend that BC Soccer is going to be increasing the Ref/Assistant Ref fees from $60/$30 to $80/$40. Thoughts?

I heard the VMSL floated the idea of a 4th official for premier games but it won't happen this upcoming season.

Also heard through the grapevine a roundtable discussion has been set-up later this month for a few Refs and all the Prem/Div 1 coaches/managers to have a go at each other. Donuts at a premium :)

Geez, I wonder where they get these idea's from?

On another note The FVSL IS using a game manager/ 4th for Premier this season. Next thing you know they'll get a ball program in place.

Good for Walks. #9 should actually get a red for the bad dye job, and a bit of advice...such as do some sit ups . And if I was Walks I would also red the guy with the cutesy barette...because that is unacceptable.

Just a wee chat about the lovely weather at Ambleside that day if I remember correctly ;)

Ah, the good 'ol days ..... when there were only black boots, no gloves, no snoods and guys wore their socks below their knees. Nico did have a dodgy barnet but he was a decent lad all in all :)
