Division 2 Cup schedule (Round of 32 and Round of 16) means that Westside Sierra league game against VUFC Rangers on Feb.16th will be postponed as well as Sierra's game on Feb.23rd against 13th Legion.
Feb.16th (Sierra - Rangers) is also the date when last 9, 10 minutes of the first match between Rangers and Sierra would have to be replayed (when Sierra protested red card; the ref did not correctly apply the rule of the game). So, that game from the first part of the season will not be completed on Feb.16th and then Sierra will have their second league game vs Rangers postponed.

It looks that at the end of February (when Division 2 league should be officially finished) Sierra will have at least 4 games to make-up (Serbia probably 1 and Shaheen most likely 2) which means that we may not know Division 2B champion before end of March (or even longer if any of those 3 teams have a good Cup run).

This is why it does not make any sense that make up games are not completed soon after there is an abandoned or postponed game. The rule should be that a postponed game must be played within 2 weeks (could be played on weekdays).

Anyone from FC Serbia A have a take on what the heck is goin' on with their squad week to week? Dominant games, with losses to VUFC and BCT Hurricanes sprinkled in?

Indeed it seems like it was quite the implosion this weekend:

Up 3-0 at halftime before slipping back to 3-2 and then giving up a hat-trick over the final 10 minutes to lose 5-3. Certainly this puts Sierra back in the drivers seat for promotion. Meanwhile Strikers are two wins away from officially claiming the title in 2A.

GN are one loss away from being officially relegated in 2A, but in 2B that win for Hurricanes means it is all to play for in terms of direct relegation and the survival playoff spot.

@Canucks4Ever when are you gonna hit us up with your Div 2 Cup breakdown? Strikers have gotten the S-A-W-F-Test draw in history it would appear. The bottom half of the bracket looks like the much stiffer test

If I'm Gastown, I'm worried. Big fall from grace for those guys

Feel kind of bad for them... their top scorer transferred out after just 5 games... incidentally that 5th and final game was against Vancouver Greencaps and that's the club he transferred to.

Sure, they got goals from the guy but he was a nutter. Saw them playing in preseason and he was flying into tackles and berating his own guys. If he was willing to walk after five games I'd say it's no loss

Won't be until next week.

Indeed top half looks by far the easier draw. Hrvat can often be tricky in the cup (assuming they beat Rino's) but so long as Strikers can negotiate that one they should be clean through to the semis. Also a nice draw for Shaheen who, despite not being a seed, look to have a straight forward path to the quarters where they should likely meet Twin Arrows who are one of the hottest teams in Div. 2 at the minute.

Bottom half isn't too bad for Serbia other than a potential quarter final with 13th Legion. The Legion have been underwhelming this season but drew exclusively Div. 3 teams until the quarters. Sierra's quarter though looks set to be a bloodbath. A few decent Div. 2 sides plus two of the three teams likely to be promoted means that we should see some good contests. Of course there are always upsets in the cup along the way so we will just have to wait and see.

Two important games (direct contenders for a promotion) this coming and then following weekend (Serbia vs Sierra on Feb.3rd then Sierra vs Shaheen on Feb.9th).
Let's not forget also a game Shaheen - Serbia scheduled for Feb.17th which could be either meaningless game or a game that decides which team will be promoted to Division 1 (if Sierra by then manages to lose both their games against Serbia and Shaheen).

Sierra is in a driver’s seat since they depend only on their own results. They can take care of Serbia with a win in a direct match this coming weekend. That win would also basically guarantee a promotion for Sierra (they would need a point against Shaheen or 13th Legion assuming they get all 6 pts against Rangers).

Serbia must win 3 remaining games (including Sierra and Shaheen) and then hope that Sierra either ties (or losses) another game out of 4 more they have (Shaheen, 13th Legion, and Rangers 1 full game and 10 “make up” minutes in which Sierra leads 4:3).
Serbia was in a driver’s seat until that unexplainable loss against Tigers 3:5 (when they had 3:0 lead at half time and apparently had another 5, 6 chances to get that game completely out of reach).

Shaheen also must win 3 remaining games (including Sierra and Serbia) to reach 50 pts but first to hope Serbia wins over Sierra on Feb.3rd.

Everything is still open but it could be decided after this coming weekend (if Sierra wins) or get extremely complicated (if Serbia wins).

A pair of big Division 2 matches survive the cup rearrangement this weekend.

In 2A, Strikers can officially clinch the title and promotion with a win. This comes after they lost to Meralomas last weekend but were let off the hook when Twin Arrows also lost to Rino's.

In 2B its the match of the season with Sierra against Serbia. It should be a cracker and Sierra can all but lock up the title if they can win this one and then beat Shaheen next week. A draw would not completely rule Serbia out, but certainly they really need a win in this one to make sure Sierra stay within their reach. Sierra won the reverse fixture 1-0 back in November so expect another hotly contested affair here!

Sierra beat Shaheen today 3:2 and most likely secured a promotion (a point more than Serbia and a game in hand). Three more games for Sierra and 10-minute replay against VUFC Rangers (where Sierre leads 4:3).
Serbia would need to beat Sierra, Shaheen, and Greencaps and hope that Sierra does not win all their remaining games (13th Legion and 1 full game and 10-minute replay against VUFC Rangers).
