Thank you for the correction. I have adjusted the rankings
These are CAMPO's power rankings for our section.
1) Greencaps 1038
2) Astro 1038
3) Tanoa 1025
4) NVFC Storm 1015
5) Campo Atletico 1000
6) GN Sporting 1000
7) Punjab 1000
8) Snipers 1000
9) Twin Arrows 988
10) Meraloma 975
11) Richmond O. 963
12) Serbian Eagles 963

Ps. The table in the VMSL still seems strange (i.e. goal difference does not seem to matter on the standings)

Nice rankings initiative!

Regarding the VMSL standings tables, I'm a little familiar with the software plugin they are using and if tied on points, it defaults to alphabetical.

Cheers,

Regs.

Whats power rankings about?

I think div 2 is going to be very competitive and i feel both A and B are equally as tough. It should be an interesting season in div 2 this year.

Against Meraloma, Tanoa appeared to have about 5 or so Premier players. Having said that, they may get more players as the season progresses. Their striker, Milad Rahmati, needs to be man marked. A couple of their players are on $2k plus for the season, hence the quality of "talent" at their disposal.

There's always one...

Should we just call them Tanoa Tigers? (Or Ayjal Tanoas?)

Does anyone know who the 4-5 premier players are that Tanoa signed?

I wonder how much they are paying to get promoted to Div.1

Yes Regs, I recall reading Milad as 1 of them as well. Just wondering if anyone knew who the others were. I think the post said they have about 4-5 which is quite a few to convince to play Div. 2 football.

One of our teams play them tomorrow. I will let you know how many of Tanoa played Premier. Our guys are looking forward to the game. It does not matter if they are getting paid or not for us. The better the opposition, the better of the game and of the experience. It is kind of nice to play a former National team player.

Any scores from today?

Astro 2-3 Greencaps

Great game down at Jericho (unless you are with Astro) they went in 2-0 up at half time and we fought back in the 2nd half winning with a penalty 5 minutes from time.

Twin Arrows 1-4 Meraloma (Division 2A, week two)

Newly-promoted Twin Arrows scored first, raising many eyebrows. However, the Kitsilano-based team in dayglow orange responded by scoring a pair of goals during each half for an emphatic away win. Lots of chances squandered and some rather dicey defending by both sides meant that this match could have seen a double-digit goal tally.

Meraloma pick up their first win of the season and hope to add more points next week at home against struggling Richmond Olympics.

Twin Arrows, who only lost three times during their entire 2014/15 Division 3A season, now have two losses from as many matches in Division 2A, and hope to gain their first points away to Campo in Burnaby next weekend.

The favourites already at top (NFVC Storm and Greencaps in group A and Rino and Squamish in group B).
Given what I have seen NVFC is the most likely contender to win the group A. We played them several times, and they have the depth to have a strong game every time. I do not think that the Greencaps will have the same consistency. Squamish should be over Rinos at the end. Twin Arrows and America struggling at the bottom as expected.
