Van Utd. 2 - 1 Bari
They've got a pretty good team with solid players. Don't know why they're in the middle of the pack in Div.3 with all of that experience. They're kinda like us...getting older. haha
Anyways, couple of cross bars and good saves from both teams.
On to the next round.

Scores are up.
What the hell is a "3-0 P" result? (Hurricanes over Roos)
A few upsets so far with:
Unicorns 2-0 Polonia
Cosmos 6-0 Bosna
Ante Up 3-2 GFC Lions
PCOV Europa 1-0 Westside B
Devo, we should have probably scored some of the half-dozen chances we had in the 1st half. Then the discounted goal in the second half wouldn't have mattered. Good game anyway, and good luck next round.

As per the Div 3 thread, we'll be doing this one today (Celtic vs. Benfica) with a best turnout of 11. Too many guys unavailable at the wrong time...

good one!!! lost my wireless conection but somehow! the the reason euro won was that the roos used an illegal player

...and the reason Benfica won was because they played a team that only had 9 players for most of the 1st half and 10 for the 2nd half.
Had our last Irish bhoy manage to get himself lost before the game, and Steady got called into work at the last minute, so he had to miss the 1st half. Credit to those who did show up for still being able to score against a team a division and several places up, not just once but twice. Junior and Neo got to see a lot more of the ball than either wanted to while in goal, but under difficult circumstances performed quite admirably.
Would love to play these guys again with a full lineup; Benfica were not a bad bunch of guys who did not get cocky despite the score.

Trece verde!! lets do it? after the season is over we have BBY Turf until March !! i give you guys credit for ur efforts!! but to say that we ONLY won because because you guys had nine!! give me a break, we didn't win 11 games this season by luck!! i have to say it is kinda hard to motivate players when the other team shows up with only 9 guys!! and we are up 4 or 5 zip withing the first 30 minutes!! BUT i give you guys full credit you guys kept trying good Luck next season!! so lets have that exhibition game!!

Taking the piss, mate; taking the piss. That's what emoticons are for to help make things obvious...
That said an exhibition sounds like fun, especially with a full side. As you saw, we have a LOT of really young guys, and I'd like them to learn where they need to be to get up to the Div. 2 level (especially with regard to finishing and defending). Best of luck in Round 2.

Richmond 2 - 1 Van Utd
Tale of two halves, we dominated the first and should have put away 3-4 goals but good goal keeping meant we went into the break only up 1-0.
Second half they pressed and could have had 3-4 of their own, this time our keeper came up big. about 20 to play, a deflected cross sky rockets up and into our box and what should have been a routine take for our defender...he misjudged the flight of the ball under no pressure and it hits his arm. PK! 1-1. A goal mouth scramble with 10 to go ends with the ball in the back of our net for the winner.
Good luck to Richmond the rest of the way.

Machel fails to mention the fact that their keeper makes 10 miraculous saves and at least 10-15 average ones with countless opportunities missed or shanked wide. On the day it was one way traffic for RFC and had we scored early it only would have left to more and more often. Not taking anything away from van utd they have some good lads there Penno , big Dhillon and a few others but let's be honest man you barely made it over centre in the second half . Ref was an absolute blunder at times and should be doing kids games. My man of the match for both teams was the Van Utd keeper who kept it close . Sorry there Machel if that's what your view of the game was time to pick up a 4-4-2 magazine mate.
