Lupi can not get promoted as long as Metro ford has a team in premier

Yes that's why he's saying top 4 could be enough to get promoted.

If hibs and lupi finish 1-2 in the division, but lupi can't go up and hibs refuse to go up then the next 2 teams "earn" promotion

Lupi can not get promoted as long as Metro ford has a team in premier
If Lupi wins a promotion they could split from Metro Ford and play Premier as an unaffiliated team or join another club/team.
If FASA could have amalgamated with Guildford (and not even play this season in Surrey; moved their home games to Burnaby) I don't see why Lupi would forfeit playing Premier because they are with the same club as Wolves.
Obviously, this is an easy solution for Lupi. That VMSL rule "one club - one team in Premier league" is archaic and should be changed.

This will not work as they will win promotion this season playing as Metro ford club team
They could leave next season but would still be in div1 have to win as a independent

Two weeks into the reverse fixtures and Lupi have climbed into second place. Discussion of what to do if they finish there come the end of the season is reminiscent of this time last season. Lupi won their match on Dec. 2 last year and then would win just once more before the end of the year, dropping from second to eighth by the time the final counting took place. Will it be a similar story this season? We will have to wait and see.

Completely Baseless Predictions - Week 14

GN Sporting v Westside Sierra
Blowing leads is never good for their collective dressing room psyche, least of all against a rival. Sierra let a 3-0 and 4-2 lead slip last time out against Westside, with the two crucial goals coming in injury time. They will need to shake off the disappointment if they are to be focused for their Friday night journey to Delta to face GN. After wobbling their way to the halfway mark of the season, GN have begun the second half the same way they begun the first half, with a pair of wins. The first time through the schedule they also picked up the points against Sierra and they will be keen to do so again this time. It was a late winner for GN in that match, which they benefited from a few times during the early weeks of the campaign and Sierra were down to ten men at the time. Discipline really has been the former Burnaby League team's Achilles heel this season and they chalked up their league leading fourth red card last week, likely aiding in Westside's comeback. Even though GN are back to winning ways, their form through October until these recent successes raised all sorts of red flags. Sierra have played just about everyone close this season, so, assuming they travel well, it stand to reason this match will be nip and tuck. I'll split the difference and say they split the points.

Westside FC A v Coquitlam Metro Ford Lupi
Two of the top four clashing clearly makes this the MOTW. While Westside will certainly take heart from their impressive last gasp comeback against Sierra, the result still cost them two points in the promotion race. Lupi vaulted them into second place and while there ability to go up is likely questionable, Westside also fell behind Burnaby Metro and were caught by GN. Further dropped points could well be disastrous for their promotion hopes with the battle to go up on a knife's edge. Coquitlam have only lost one game so far this season, though that game was to Westside. As mentioned above, this was about the time last season where Lupi seemed to lose interest and their season went off a cliff. Based on their recent form they do not seem to be in such a precarious position this year, but a closer look shows that they might well be teetering on the edge once again. After four straight draws, Metro Ford have won three in a row. However, those three results came against the bottom three teams and Lupi just scraped them over the line. They were 2-0 down to NorVan but pulled it out of the fire and won 3-2, they needed an injury time winner to beat last place Santos 2-1 and only got the points last week against Greencaps last week thanks to a last minute penalty. So perhaps they are not in quite as much of a purple patch as it may seem at first glance. They also have Jordan Bordignon and Trevor Hallam, two of their top offensive threats, on the hot sheet this week after they each picked up their fifth yellows of the season. Westside need these points and all signs seem to point to them having the edge in this one, especially with Coquitlam having to travel. That being said, it would not surprise me in the slightest to see Metro Ford get something out of this one given their season overall.

Vancouver Greencaps v Burnaby Metro Athletic
Watching NorVan pick up an unexpected win over Strikers last week and jump out of the relegation zone at the expense of Greencaps was no doubt an inconvenience for the Irish lads. It would have been especially frustrating when they then looked odds on to get at least a point off Lupi on Sunday, only to be undone by a last minute penalty. Regardless of these set backs, the Vancouver boys have no choice but to get back on the horse and keep hammering away. Surely if they continue to battle the points will come at some point, right? For Burnaby they could care less who survives the Division 1 relegation battle as they have no intention of being around to play whoever stays up next season. Metro have their sights set on promotion and with Lupi and Westside playing each other this weekend, the teams directly above and below them in the table, the Burnaby boys will know they have a chance to take a solid step towards achieving their goal so long as there are no slip ups this weekend. They will be without their leading scorer though as Tipo Conteh in on the league's naughty list after picking up his third yellow of the season in their 2-1 win over "clubmates" Santos. Perhaps that opens the door every so slightly for Greencaps in this one. Burnaby need to slam said door shut though, as after this week the will have already played all of the bottom three twice.

Richmond Hibernian v Rino's Fury
Not a great day at the office for Rino's last week as they were unable to follow up their impressive 6-1 thrashing of Sierra. Instead, they were relatively limply shrugged off by GN in a 2-0 loss. Now they get league leaders "Richmond", who cruised to a 3-0 win over Chinter B. The win gave UBC back to back clean sheets and they have now shutout their opponents in six of their last nine matches. Not much to analyze in this one as it looks like it will be impressive if Rino's can manage to score, let alone pick up any type of result.

VAFC Santos v Vancouver Strikers
Missing posters are surely strewn across most of Kitsilano in search of Strikers offense which has suddenly vanished without a trace. Being kept off the score sheet against top dogs UBC was maybe not a total shock, though Strikers did manage a pair in their first encounter against the league leaders, but to be shut out by struggling NorVan was an eyebrow raiser. NorVan have one of the leakiest defenses in the league and while them winning was not entirely out of the question, given they are in a desperate relegation battle and newly promoted Strikers look all but safe in mid-table, but the clean sheet was a shock. Even more surprising was that it came at home for Strikers at the friendly confines of Jericho. Now they must trek out to the expanses of Burnaby Lake to face Santos; one assumes they will be hoping to pick up their offense along the way. Santos are another side in the relegation battle and they could desperately use any type of result here. Back to back 2-1 losses with at least have the Burnaby side thinking that a good performance could well earn them a result in this one. Assuming the Strikers attack returns from its sabbatical in time for kickoff, they are the favourites, but that may not be a guarantee.

NorVan Storm v Club Inter EDC Burnaby B
After perhaps a season altering 3-0 win over Strikers, NorVan have another chance to take a massive step towards safety when they host Chinter this week. After a stretch of looking like a competent Division 1 side, EDC are back to their old selves, having lost three on the spin. Their last two performances, a 4-1 loss to GN and a 3-0 reversal at the hands of UBC, are hardly inspiring efforts. While the 13 points they have amassed looks like it could well be enough, based on the form of the current relegation sides Santos and Greencaps, a loss this week would see NorVan close to within two points of Inter. This is not necessarily a reason to set alarm bells ringing in the Chinter camp, but if NorVan to end up leapfrogging them, it means Inter become the team with the target on their back that the relegation sides are trying to catch and then there really is no room for error. It genuinely feels as though EDC may have already cooled their jets and are certain they safe, or at least that, if necessary, they can pick up the points they will need. Time will tell if this is the case, but NorVan seem hungry at the minute and Chinter look ripe for the taking, especially on the road in North Vancouver.

This Week's biased Predictions :

GN unSporting v Westside Sierra: The ND/Surrey crew will continue to be the yoyo this season. With rain in the forecast I see the other Westside team getting the edge here. Westside 3-1
Westside FC A v Coquitlam Metro Ford Lupis: MOTW After a little slip up last week against their step brother the Westside A team will take it to the traveling Lupis out at Pt. Grey this Saturday. Westside A 4-1
Vancouver Greencraps v Burnaby Metro Athletic: The big salary of BMA will be too much for the St. Paddy specials. The greencraps might as well start looking ahead to Div.2. Maybe they can combine forces with Minger's Army and make a run at getting back up.
Richmond Hibernian v Rino's Fuzzy: UBC with a 3-0 win, Fuzzy getting more cards then goals lately
VAFC Santos v Vancouver Strikers: Strikers have been more like sleepers lately, but maybe playing the bottom of the barrel should help with getting the goal train back in gear. Strikers 4-0
NorVan rain cloud v Club Inter EDC Burnaby F : This is another stinker on the fixtures sheet this week, With Norman find a early Christmas miracle last week, I can see them crashing back to reality this week. EDC should look to park the bus and play for a draw. 2-2 in this one

Well it is official. After last weeks results it is confirmed that VAFC Santos (Campo) will not be making an immediate return to Premier. Also officially not going up this year are Greencaps and, after NorVan's surprise uptick in form, it is looking very much like them and Santos will be going down. That said, NorVan will not be picking up a third straight win this weekend as they have moved their match with Rino's to the end of the season. Conversely, "Richmond", Coquitlam and Burnaby have all confirmed they will not be playing in Division 2 next season, whether or not they will still be in Division 1 remains to be settled. All this goes to show, as we head into the final week of the season, that we are running out of games and the points are, or lack thereof, are starting to carry greater and greater weight each week.

Completely Baseless Predictions - Week 15

Vancouver Strikers v Vancouver Greencaps
Looking to avoid the holiday rush, Strikers and Greencaps have brought their final fixture before the break forward to Wednesday. With NorVan pulling five points clear of Greencaps, it is set to make for a dire holidays for the Irish lads as relegation looks to be an ever growing reality. That said, their spirits appear still to be high and they have been unlucky not to come away with at least a point or two from their most recent matches. A win this week would at least keep them in touch with a match against NorVan still to come near the end of the season. Strikers seem to have fully embraced the lethargy of mid-table in Division 1. With virtually no chance of going up and only a complete disaster likely to lead to relegation Strikers appear to have hit cruise control. After being one of the top offensive teams through the first half of the the schedule their attack fired blanks in back to back losses before conceding a pair of goal to ten-man Santos last time out. They finally found the combination necessary to kick start their attack and pulled back level to avoid being beaten by ten men, though only just, as their equalizer came in stoppage time. Given Greencaps should be the more desperate side, Strikers might well be there for the taking in this match, especially given the near misses the 'Caps have had of late. Plus mid-week matches tend to lend themselves to draws, so I will say this one finishes level.

GN Sporting v Westside FC A
Both these teams dropped points last week leaving their respective promotion hopes on life support. Dropping further points again this week could well be the death knell. Westside were edged 1-0 by Coquitlam and kept off the scoreboard for only the second time this season. Given their decent offensive numbers this season it is difficult to see that happening again a second week in a row. So expect them to score at least a goal or two. That could be problematic for GN who have struggled to create offense against the teams in the top half of the table. With both these teams having their backs against the wall, it will be interesting to see who shows up when the chips are down. A solid test of promotion credentials in this one that could go either way. GN won the first meeting, edging it 2-1 on one of their late goals that they benefited from in the early part of the season. GN just seem unconvincing so I will give Westside the edge hear.

Westside Sierra v Richmond Hibernian
Still undefeated, it is difficult to look at the schedule and point to any fixture that could really prove to be a banana peel for Hibs. The UBCers look set to waltz to the league title with their five point cushion at the top. Sierra have played everybody close though, including "Richmond" the first time around when they took an early lead only to fall 3-1. They will certainly give this one a good effort and an afternoon kickoff in the middle of exam season might mess with UBC a bit, who knows. Hibs obviously the favourites, but expect a good effort from Sierra.

Club Inter EDC Burnaby B v VAFC Santos
It appears that Chinter may have called time on their season after they were absolutely pumped 8-0 by NorVan last week. This happened last season as well and the "Italian"-Chileans limped to the finish line, essentially just letting Romania and Binger's run out of games in order to ensure their survival. It might be a little bit too early for that this season and with Santos proving based on their 2-2 draw with Strikers last week, a result they earned despite being reduced to ten men, that they will continue to try and fight to stay up. With Chinter having conceded 15 goals in their last three games while scoring only once, they are far from in top form at the moment. The last time these side clashed Inter won 8-1, but that was the final week before Burnaby Metro management swept in to take control of the team and since then results have been much improved for Santos. I think they will take this one.

Burnaby Metro Athletic v Coquitlam Metro Ford Lupi
Easily the MOTW here as the 2019 schedule concludes with a blockbuster in the promotion race. Much has been discussed about whether Coquitlam can get promoted, and indeed whether or not they should be eligible, but, just like similar rhetoric last season, it makes no difference if they do not finish in the top two. After defeating Westside 1-0 last week, Lupi are in a position to take a stranglehold on second place if they can beat Burnaby this week. Burnaby, however, know that a win will mean that they can enjoy the holidays sitting in a promotion place. With only seven games to play in the New Year, both these sides will be targeting at least six wins, with both still to play UBC. Six wins in addition to picking the points this weekend will put one of these sides over 50 points which will surely be enough to go up. The last two seasons 47 points has earned promotion. Metro Ford's last four matches have all been tight affairs, with the Tri-Cities boys eking out one goal wins in all four. Their four matches before those all finished as draws. In fact, the last time Lupi won a game by more that one goal was a 3-1 success over Metro back at the end of September. So it is likely that this game will be close. Metro welcome back leading scorer Tipo Conteh for this match after muddling through without him in their 3-2 win over Greencaps and he could be just the game breaker they need. It does not feel like there will be more than the odd goal in this game to sway it to one side or the other. This one is on a knifes edge and I will turtle and say that knife splits the points down the middle.

Fully Biased predictions this week:

Vancouver Stinkers v Vancouver Greencraps: With the recent form of the Stinkers this could be the MOTW. The Greencraps are desperate for some point. Maybe Santa can help out the Guinness loving lads.... Who am I am I kidding. The Vancouver Stinkers will take this one in a barn burner 5-3
GN UnSporting v Westside FC A: after dropping points to Metro Ford and completely dominating the match the Westside A boys will look to go into he break on the right foot. WestSide 3-1 over Unsporting away
Westside Sierra v Richmond Hibernian: With Richmond/UBC Hibs in the middle of final exams, will we see Mosher dress this week?? Regardless of who they dress they should be able to knock off the step brothers of Westside. Hibs 3-0
Club Inter EDC Burnaby B v VAFC Santos(Crapo): MOTW this is a battle of the basement dwellers. Maybe Santos will have their high paid staff there to run the show or maybe they won't either way I think Inter Chilli will get it down vs the worst team in Div. 1. EDC 2-0
Burnaby Metro Athletic
v Coquitlam Metro Ford Lupis: With the upset last week the Lupis look to continue their good fortune before the holidays. Unlucky for them they run into a high motivated BMA team looking to find their Xmas bonus!! BMA 3-1

Happy Holidays to all you muckers
