It would be quite the achievement for the perennial Div. 1 gladiators, what's the mood in the Army's camp Big GK?

Not to go all "Mr. Base" on this one, but is there much interest in promotion from the Army? Great group of guys, some who have been there before, but probably most are closer to Masters Prem, no? Given the absolute shellacking that Rinos are taking week in and week out up top how keen are the Bingers to head to West Van, Pegasus, CMF, etc. as heavy underdogs and then scrap it out with the other pretenders to try and stay up? Five or six years ago, for sure I would think, but maybe now it's more fun to be a good sized fish in an ok pond, playing a decent level of footy and then having some beers with the boys post game?

Or would you try and get up, add some youth and make an attempt to create something enduring? Expand the club even?

Season is not even close to over and we have been lucky to steal some wins. So I don't think we can start thinking about that and i would be surprised if we are top 2 at the end of
the season but if the soccer gods continued to help us we would give it a go in the big leagues.

GK stay in div one and injoy it. Premier is full of guys you never see before. Turn over is huge each year. Team like Columbus knows the upper league they know what it take. Unless you have U21 to feed the club chances of staying up is one in ten. Going down to div one again only gets harder. Better players move on to other clubs you will start building all over again. Soccer is the same. Premier clubs have seven good players div one five per team.

IMO the big games this week are south delta vs akal, binger army vs ND, and romina vs rhinos. if binger pull off a win promotion might be there for them if they can keep their impressive run going into the second half of the season. if either akal or south delta win today, they will jump into top four, IF westside and ND slip up.

Romania 1 - Rino's 7

Evens out the absolute drubbing the Rinos prem boys took...?

Big GK's prediction that the Army may not be able to sustain their torrid pace in the second half of the season might be right as ND put a decent chink in their armour. Or perhaps they are taking Mr. Base's advice and easing off the throttle ;)

Result of the weekend has to be Metropolitan holding top table Columbus to a 0-0 the week after they knock off wonder-kids Guildford (assuming neither of the bottom feeders pull off a shocker tomorrow). Forget the top of the table, Student's are hotttt...I believe they take on Bingers next week which might edge out Guildford/Westside for MOTW.

Sarajevo vs. Guildford, final score was 1-1, quite a rough game through the whole match, couple of yellow cards here and there. Lot of chances for Guildford but, they couldn't finish, Sarajevo had great chances to capitalize too, both keepers made incredible saves.

Getting very, very interesting at the top (especially the battle for the 2nd place that leads to Premier league).

Couple of wins (or losses) and you could be anywhere between the 2nd and 10th place.

The same applies to Sarajevo and Shaheen. A few wins and they could catch one of the teams that now seem to be out of reach.

That's a shocker.

Will be an interesting rematch for the Royals taking on Shaheen this weekend, after they wiped us 5-1 in the season opener. We've strung a couple wins together and were unlucky not to take 3 pts from Akal this past weekend. That said, no easy games in this division - as seen in the Sarajevo/Guildford match.

akal and romania got cancelled, rumour has it the ref did not allow the teams to play because of the pitch condition

Frozen field??

Seems kinda ridiculous if the sun had been shining on it all day and there were youth games running on it....
