Vancouver Whitecaps v Minnesota United – The Top Of The Table Story In Pictures
Say we are top of the league, say we are top of the league. Well, the Western Conference anyway.
It was a comfortable 3-0 win against Minnesota United that put Vancouver Whitecaps there. It could, and probably should, have been more, but it’s hard to grumble with what we got, especially the clean sheet at the end of the night.
Yordy Reyna, Erik Hurtado, and Brek Shea did the damage on the night to send the ‘Caps to the top of the summit. Best in the West baby. For now. Let’s make sure we stay there.

And it didn’t take the ‘Caps long to get off and running as Yordy Reyna gets on the end of a brilliant long bacl from Marcel de Jong to fire home in the 5th minute
Celebrate good times. Come on!
Kendall Waston nearly makes it two but his header is cleared off the Minnesota goalline
But the ‘Caps do get their second in the 31st minute when Erik Hurtado throws himself at Brek Shea’s cross
To guide the ball past Bobby Shuttleworth for his second of the season and make it 2-0 Vancouver

Ouch!
“But I only elbowed him in the face” – former Whitecap Michael Boxall picks up a booking
Whitecaps number 20’s past and present
Erik Hurtado has a chance to grab a second but Bobby Shuttleworth is in the way
And again from a Bernie Ibini header, with a fantastic sprawling save
It’s chaos in the Minnesota box as Vancouver attack
And the third finally comes two minutes from time as Brek Shea brilliantly meets Fredy Montero’s cross
To head home and round off the scoring on the night. 3-0 Vancouver means…
