I thought the same with the "me wise magic"... guess we'll all find out tomorrow when the whole album is released!

So far though, all the reviews have been positive except for one coming out of the centre of the universe

Why does it look like a highschool dancefloor in the first video? Floor seats look half sold out

I am going to see them at the MGM Grand in May...hopefully they will be better than Journey last year, although Foreigner rocked...

Sir M, I was a keener and got to that concert early... I think Night Ranger did an excellent job as well as Foreigner...Journey dragged a bit. Regs, how is the new VH album sounding?

I like it, only 2 or 3 songs I'm not into, but the rest are rockin - Tattoo doesn't do the rest of the album justice.

ooooooooo, I'm surprised that no one has commented on the concert last night...

I can honestly say that I had a 'heads-up' with the reviews re: Diamond Dave not up to snuff-so I was prepared. Eddie rocked as usual, Alex killed, and Wolfgang VH has stepped up in the confidence area.

Unfort Diamond Dave was performing like a geriatric citizen- too afraid to break a hip or something. He snuggled onto his scarf...almost the entire show - like Lynas from Peanuts carried his snuggly blanket. WTF happened to Dave's stage presence? Not the same as a few years back... I understood more of his skattin' (while Eddie was wailing on the guitar) than some of the words he was trying to belt out.

He missed lyrics, he missed cues, he missed notes, he missed-and missed some more. My concert escort tried to turn things into the positive and say that 'Dave is just being creative with his delivery'. I didn't agree with that. The audience was left to sing a lot of the 'fillers' as Dave seemed to have alzheimers moments during the performance.

If I were Eddie and Alex, I'd be pissed that Dave was more of an embarrassment than anything. He used to be a great front man, but now he's just boring... I guess I expected a lot more outta Dave...but I can't complain about the 1 hour and 58 minute concert... Kool and the Gang (a weird combo of the decade) opened and had the rocker crowd engaged. I'm glad to see that their reunion tour seems to be doing well...

My concert escort flipped the bill for this one, and I'm glad. I'm also glad that I didn't get suckered into the Kokanee and Bud nor the $8.50 cup price. Despite all of the above, it was a nice Monday night out on the town, and thank goodness for the pubs staying open late to complete the night.

Listening to the Fox this morning and they echo'd you SC.

Conversation went something like this on reviews heard on the concert:

"Basically if your last name is Van Halen - Good show".
"If your last name isn't Van Halen - Not a good show".

:D

AND, I only read the Sun newspaper review when I got home (hours of writing the above)...perhaps I should get into writing media reviews ;) . I wondered why nothing was written up in the Metro or 24hr, but I guess they didn't have much to say.

Oh well, I'm a new fan of Chickenfoot (with the joined forces of Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony)...lol

From what I've heard everyone at Kool and the Gang wanted to "Get Down On It" and "Cherish" the night because it was so "Fresh" and exciting. Especially this one lady, I believe her name was "Joanna"

Quite the "Celebration" is what I heard.

Honestly, you can never go wrong with a black R& B 'soul' group...they did 'get down' and had the crowd engaged... But, that's just my black half biased opinion... :D

BTW, if your lady at work was a true fan, she'd see the talent that night...and there was evidence...
