If Russia wins........they will give Holland a very tough time, Reynold.....still a very difficult team to play against. :)

Should be interesting. Great avatar, Reynold. :D

Either team winning will be interesting. If Russia goes through, the former Dutch coach will be up against the Orange in the quarters, and if Sweden goes through, their star striker is a former Ajax frontrunner. He has quite a common Swedish name: Ibrahimovitch...I think their is a too narrow and firm bed named after him at Ikea.

Great stuff,

The Beeb:
2008: GOAL Russia 1-0 Sweden
Another sizzling move from Russia and they finally put the gloss on it. Igor Semshov is played in down the right, he squares to Aleksandr Anyukov who sets up Roman Pavluchenko for the finish. A deserved lead for the Russians, which means they will go through as it stands.

2008: "Sweden look heavy-legged in comparison. Russia are giving them the run-around."
BBC Radio 5 Live analyst Pat Nevin

2007: Andrei Arshavin attempts to chip the cross up at the back post - and it almost turns out to be a wonder-goal but Andreas Isaksson claws it behind for a corner. From it, Yuri Zhirkov smashes a volley millimetres wide.

2003: This is brilliant stuff from Russia and it's all about Andrei Arshavin. The playmaker effortlessly plays in the overlapping Konstantin Zyryanov but Sweden clear the cross.

2001: Another shot from Russia, another shot from Andrei Arshavin. Wide this time. Sweden can't say they haven't been warned.

2000: Roman Pavlyuchenko crosses and this time Andrei Arshavin fails to make proper contact with his shot. Arshavin may not have his shooting boots on but he's causing all sorts of bother with his passing and movement.

1958: Decent chance for Russia. Aleksandr Anyukov delivers a dangerous cross from the right and an unmarked Andrei Arshavin glances his header wide. Poor effort really.

is Arshavin everywhere!?!?!

Notta chance.

Arshavin is dangerous, but seriously, Does Sweden, whom he ran over almost singlehandedly, have anyone as close to as good as the Dutch in Midfield or at the back?

From what I have seen/read he was allowed to run around half marked or completely open all day...

The Dutch will also posses the ball for longer periods of time than the Swedes or anyone else in that group for that matter...

It is wakeup time for the Ruski's imho

This coming from a guy who thought Rangers would win the league. Russia will beat Holland because Holland have yet to be truly tested.

Go Russia

You have got to be TTP. Not tested? They annilated the Group of Death. Eliminated the World Cup Winners and Runners Up. Italy =#3, France =#7, Romania =#12.

Holland was #10 and Russia is #24. Russia beat #30 Sweden and #8 Greece (how was Greece #8? -- last Euros were 4 years ago).

Hup Holland!

Italy.......one striker who is a lazy shite. France.......was that the masters squad? Yes, the Group of Death was anything but.......as Romania was minging and France had injuries and age to deal with. Italy was just......Italy.

You're right though.......rankings mean A LOT.

From the cracker celtics fan, The Dutch are going to roll through this whole tourney, they are the best team in it, we have seen it so far. The Ruskeis will be easy pesy in the nest round, but, can they beat the I-tias agian, after they take out the Spainards.
Can't wait.
Go Rangers ya Cnut.
