Has anyone been taking the advice of the "experts" and done some buying?

I purchased shares of Microsoft today at 22.36 only to watch the stock drop below $21. It was up a couple bucks in afterhours. Earnings are tomorrow and hopefully there is a bit of a run.

A guy at work was planning on retiring this year as he has been playing the stock market for years and done fairly well. Unfortunately he is 500K down from where he was and will now be working a few more years.

Sad story, Girth. I'd offer him some stock advice, but that would only be adding fuel to the fire.

Another rough week. If I could wake up at 6am and put a low bid in, I would be up 20% by 8am when I do wake up! Still lots of volatility within the day and I would have liked buying Micosoft at $20.35 instead of $22.35. I would have been out a day later $600 to the good. Hopefully we have a crazy rally next week so that I can sell. The dollar dropping 10% would also be nice!

Almost not in last place, unfortunately nothing good in commodities so I think I'll be firmly rooted there.

Interesting, of all the stocks chosen, only two stocks are making money: My pick of Bristol Myers (I've made a $7 profit on it) and your Constellation Energy (You are up $175)

Overall portfolios....not so nice

Needless to say, my grandiose plans of getting a quick profit on Microsoft hasn't worked. It's down over 12% and the Canadian $ has risen. Looks like I am stuck with it.

One stock to watch, and it's where I should have put my MSFT gamble (couldn't decide so chose the more "stable" stock) is RIO. #2 Mining company in the world and fluctuates consistently between $10 and $15.

Markets are rocking. If I bought anything other than Microsoft with my "buy when there's blood on the streets" gamble I'd be up 40% instead of down 15%. Who woulda thunk it.

I bought nortel shares on the tsx venture about 2 months ago @.105/share through my rbc direct account.. Checked in last week knowing they landed a couple contracts the bang up to .31/share. Right now its back n forth.. Should got out when i was up 250%....
