Wow, did not see this one coming :(

Tony was one of the nicest men I ever had the pleasure of knowing. Always had time for you on or off the pitch.

Condolences to Anne, Victoria and the rest of the family.

Wow - Very sad.

Legend so you were Tony Waiters.
Thanks for bringing the Soccer Bowl to us here and having us qualify for the World Cup.
Amazing achievements in hindsight and not sure anyone will ever attain those accolades as a Coach in Canadian soccer.

RIP.

When I read the news this morning, I actually thought privately to myself, Tony may be the nicest man I've ever met, certainly the kindest in soccer. Saying a lot; I've met a lot of great people in our game, but he definitely is a giant amongst men and women in that regard. Very sad, but it seems like I've been saying this a lot lately: what a legacy. Honestly, think about how huge a positive impact Mr. Waiters had on Vancouver, BC, and Canada.

RIP, Sir Tony Waiters. You were one of a kind.

Horribly sad day for his family as 83 is no longer old age for many these days.

Like others, I echo the comments that he was one of kindest, nicest people you'll ever meet in the game.
