Same here. I'm still bitter about not getting my invite to your fundraiser with the hot Indian babes.

home games?

So what teams have Friday night home games?
I am thinking Delta United and Chilliwack does.
Who else?
It seems to me that there is going to be much more Friday nighters coming up this year.

Delta, GEU, Chilliwack, Langley (from what I heard) and Poco

I am pretty sure you can put us in that mix as well.
So it seems 6 out of 10 Friday night games.
And I am assuming the others have Sunday afternoon games.
Hopefully no Saturay games. Easier on making the schedule.

Langleys Turf field is scheduled for completion in early September (though by looking at I would say late Sep). The field will be located at MAP (McLeod Athetic Park) AKA: Langley Secondary the same place you all would have played Langley last season.

I believe Langley United Premier has booked Friday night game times on the pitch as has the CAT and Div 1 teams for Sunday.

Sure hope they're not using the same contractors and customs brokers as the City of Slurrey. NAP was only 6 or 7 months behind last year.

NTG still owes me a case of beer for losing that bet. ;)

Hopefully they will copy the job the contractors did in installing...NAP is the best around. Top facility.

Friday nights are going to be a blast this year!

I hope they aren't using the same contractors as Poco did. Their field has pools of water on it when it rains. How do you make a turf field that's not flat?

I'm hoping that, if the Langley turf isn't ready, our stellar management with the bad hair will try booking us at Bear Creekfor Friday evenings. ;)

Dispite his hair, I think he has pull.

Dude- great haircut guy.

I think we have notified the league of the potentially "late" field. You may play your first few games "away" or on BROWN road grass...lol

I am sure that the builders of the turf field will implement a permanent wet patch in the North East corner just like the old grass oval field had, it would be sort of a traditional thing.

Turf fields

What's with all the turf fields? They're fukcing crap and do nothing but shorten everyone's playing career. Tell me one guy, regardless whether he's had previous problems, who doesn't have sore knees, hips, you name it after a match on a turf field. I feel sorry for all the youth players growing up playing on turf, all the physio experts in all sports say how hard artificial fields are on an atheletes body.

Allignment.

This about right?

Peace Arch United
Golden Ears United
Poco City
Langley United
Chilliwack FC
North Delta Lions
North Delta United
Sikh United FC
Aldergrove United
GN Sporting

If anyone can confirm this we'll get a poll going.

Here are TheRob's predictions for the year:

1. PAU - unless Guinness starts. ;)
2. Poco - unless Osame is still coach.
3. GEU - need a coach.
4. Langley - sound like they've gotten a lot better
5. North Delta United - Pak Cup hangover?
6. GN Sporting - depleted by SUFC?
7. North Delta Lions - good effort in their first year.
8. Chilliwack - the slide continues.
9. Aldergrove - should they be here?
10. SUFC - see #9.

Millsy,

I look at it this way: the new field turf is far more forgiving that the old astroturf, or even the stuff at Burnaby complex. That was the first, and the fields continue to get better.

Granted, I'd much rather play on grass, but I also like Friday nights (assuming I get my share of Friday night games). In addition to that, I REALLY like the fact that we'll be on turf instead of gravel for training. Talk about wear and tear...the gravel kicks the crap out of you more than anything.

That's huge.

TheRob:

Langley 4th? I'm flattered. I think any team should have the goal of aiming for a Provincial spot, and that may be ours as the season progresses, but right now the coaches have just said, "We want to be a lot better than last year". That's the first priority.

It's a new team for the most part, and before any predictions can be made, we need to mesh as a group. We do have a couple of very nice signings up front and in the back, and Tim Wagner has returned to tend the net, with the expectation he won't need to be turning around and bending over to pick balls out of the back as much. Apparently he needed considerable physical and mental rehab after the end of last season.

Bottom line: you won't find Langley taking the piss anytime soon. Lot's of work to do yet.

What the coaches have done is select a top 30-33 (depending on how many sign). Only 11 have been signed to Premier, and the remaining 20-23 are signed to Cat. They'll transfer players around, I presume, once Cup time comes.

Anyhow, that's pretty much what was written on the memo passed around last night. Yes, a memo. We're organized baby. We're having a bake sale on Saturday; Wagner will be serving the Lemonade, and Jay will be blowing balloon animals. :D

Ouch, last place, that would suck. :D I don't think any GN players are coming over to SUFC, so they will not be depleted by us.

When does the league usually put out the schudule?
Looks like 7 out of the 10 teams are playing Friday nights.
It would be great to open up the season with a N.Delta vs Delta
Friday night game at J.O.
LETS GET DIRTY!!:D

Last place for SUFC? I believe the Sikhs might surprise some teams. They seem to have a good foundation with a Cat, U-21, and a Div.3 team to work with.
