Just had to have something to intrigue me fasty. I've just had me wisdom teef out and I'm a bit woozy, i meant to say a fag and drink.. Tuffers will forgive me... I see Tuffers as a hard core porn man really.

Steven Waugh: The only selection mistake England made in the Ashes was picking Croft and not Tufnell, anyone who's played against both knows who the better bowler is...

To the aussies, Hansie isn't coming to Aus, he's coaching schoolboys back home. Just like to see the Aussies get beaten, but then the South africans will be unbearable, ah yah can't win, come on Canada, the Americas Cup awaits, the cricket one not the yachting.

One-dayer

Tiner,

SA vs. AUS and you are looking forward to the one-dayers! Who cares about those. This is the first time the two strongest nations are playing test cricket against each other in a while, that's what all of the anticipation is about.

Hey Regs ~~~~ are you going to take off "hardly ever used now" from the cricket thread title or what????

M

MCG

thread

Regs,

I agree with Tiner. The cricket thread was once the mecca of the TTP threads. We deserve a little more.

The pitch is starting to break up a bit, so the small lead that the Aussie's amounted in the first innings could be enough to carry them to victory.

winning aussie team

anyone checked out the latest aus vs s.a.? i don't think they'll recover during this test, somehow. let's just hope we can bowl the bastards out!

speaking of checking out stuff, has anyone found a good cricket site? baggygreen.com is OK, but i find it difficult to find what i'm looking for.

Damn Aussies, they'll be unbearable again, Warne and McGrath woke up in the second innings and destroyed the S.Africans, wait till I talk to Carwyn eh McG. I'd like to see a close series but I suspect that the psychological blow of this result may kill of the Africans, will Donald play in the next test, you can guarantee it.

M

MCG

woke up

Boycs,

I don't think Warney and McGrath woke up in the second innings, I think that the pitch deterated(sp?). Considering it went into the afternoon of the last day, that wasn't a bad test; however, SA had no chance to win in the last innings, that took some excitement out of it.
Australia played well, but I think the turning point of that test match was the coin toss. Hopefully the next will be closer.

the 'g ........is the cricket on tv here somewhere???

oh ..whats the point i'll be home during the next test anyway.

i hope also that the next test is more competitive and that the 1 dayers are good. is boring otherwise.was a surprise actually , i expected for more from SA. the pitch will hopefully play less of a role on in the boxing day test.

mcg - thanks for the url, but all it does is send you back to baggy green which, as a site, is pretty sucky.

Well, Australia pretty comprehensively proved that they are the best side in the world. To think that Langer couldn't get in the side last summer and he and Hayden are now being talked about as one of the best opening partnerships of all time, too much talent, it ain't fair.

I don't see SA recovering in the 3 tests in SA either, especially now that they are having fights about coloured quotas and internal politics. Pity poor Justin Ontong for being in as the token guy.

ontong

the pressure on him was too much. i agree with at least trying to have some balance in a side (not many aboriginal players on the aussie side....). but the stink it caused was unbelievable.

how would he feel knowing he was selected for that reason. in a woeful innings that didnt even avoid follow - on 9 was actually ok!!! :D

He got 32 in the second dig and apparently Pollock thought he looked the part. The real irony is that it was his roommate for the whole tour, Rudolph, who got dropped for him.
