I was in croatia. I came back on the first flight that was allowed back into north america on september 14. Frankfurt to Vancouver. Little trivia for u there. Freaking mental at the frankfurt airport.
I was in Greece working, and being the only North American there all my coworkers ran down to where I was telling that I had to go to a TV to watch the events. Seeing the images on TV that day were horrible and still to this day it makes me sick.
I have some good friends in NYC it took me no lie at least 3 weeks to get a hold of them to see if they were ok! I visited NY in Oct 2002, EVERY house had a American Flag. I drove past Ground Zero and I had a sick feeling!
I was flying home to Los Angeles when it happened. We did not find out until we were escorted out of the airport with bags in hand by airport tactical units. Living in the US at that time was an experience, kinda scary since I lived in one of the terrorist targets. Hatred was at its peak, no American liked foreigners........it actually made all American citizens equals for a time.
