Wondering if this league will survive all the backlash.

The money being paid out is crazy but I imagine for big names to leave the PGA tour they need to be compensated because they won’t be keeping all their American sponsors

So they have team and individual competitions throughout the season. Check out the team names
It’s like a bad golf pool name list

Not one LIV sellout (aside from DJ) within sniffing distance of the leaderboard at the Open last weekend.
DJ is the highest ranked LIV Sellout at #16 on the OWGR and Ancer at #20...

who woulda thought no cuts, and 3 rounds instead of 4 wouldn't end well at majors against the guys grinding on the PGA where iron sharpens iron.

Goes to show you that money was the deciding factor not tournament wins
Guys that stayed are in it for the history and having your name on the masters etc trophies

It’s a tough argument. I get the fans and purists hating it but imagine guaranteed income, less tournaments/time commitment and more money, more family/free time. For players looking to make history maybe not the play but for some, it makes a lot of sense.

That's the thing. They're only able to play against the best at the majors. A friend of mine said all LIV has done is make the PGA tour AAA Baseball and the LIV AA Baseball and the only time you see MLB is at the majors...
Guaranteed income?... for a guy like DJ how much is enough? He's been a top player of his generation, won majors, made bazillions of dollars... so adding another $100-$200M and not ever playing on the PGA Tour again? I don't get it.
Without fans the LIV Saudi financiers aren't going to endlessly dump cash into a black hole. I don't see it being sustainable.

I feel like it’s ruining one of the things I loved about the PGA tour , which was that you had to actually earn your income and a place on tour. Now it’s guaranteed like NBA or MLB etc, where you get paid no matter what. And yes I understand there’s endorsements etc, but not everyone on tour is a Dustin or Phil types that have that.
