The only answer I can come up with is, It really doesn't matter in which order they cross because when was the last time you remember a concert starting on time...

I'm assuming that the 1 minute dude is the singer thus he doesn't have an instrument. Thus, I will further assume that it takes each member 1 minute to cross if they haven't got an instrument to carry...

10 goes with 5 = 10
"10" back = 1 (because why would he carry his instrument back... he could just leave it with 5  )
"10" goes with 2 = 2
"10" back = 1
"10 goes with 1 = 1

Total = 15

Note that the only important order using these assumptions is that 10 and 5 must be the first to go.

Am I close?

Actually, what CC says makes sense because how can a concert start w/o the band?

:D

Wrong and wrong.
10 min guy always takes 10 min to walk the bridge.
5 min guy takes 5 min etc.

knvb has been the closest so far. Keep trying

Fairly simple for a skilled monkey pilot such as myself.

1 and 2 across first =2 mins total
1 brings flashlight back, 2+1= 3mins total
10 and five then go, 10+3=13 mins total
2 brings flashlight back, 13+2=15 mins total
1+2 then finish the job, 2+15=17 mins total and they are pumping the jam

Four members of a band are walking to a night concert. They decide to take a shortcut, but must cross a bridge. Luckily they have one flashlight. Because of the varying size of their instruments, it takes each member a different amount of time to cross the bridge - it takes the first person one minute, the second person two minutes, the third person five minutes and the fourth person ten minutes. They must cross the bridge in pairs, travelling at the slower speed so if the one minute person went with the ten minute person, it would take a total of ten minutes. Since there is only one flashlight, one person must come back across the bridge, then another pair can cross. They only have 17 minutes to cross the bridge and still get to the concert on time. What order should they cross to get everyone across and get to the concert?
One and two go over = 2
Two goes back = 4
10 and 5 go over = 14

For fcuks sake, Beaker. Enroll in High School and take Grade 8 Typing.

As for you Regs, I had lots of practice doing critical weight and balance equations when piloting my monkey craft. For example, 155 lb. monkey pilot + 1/2 ounce cargo (monkey chronic) + 100 lbs. coconut fuel = You are a bunch of coneheads

I didn't google, but I did have to cut down 43 tree's to make the scap paper I used.

Speaking of trees...... here's Friday's brainteaser.

Question

You have 10 trees and you have to plant them in five rows but each row must contain 4 trees. How is this possible?

One to work on this afternoon.

Question

Only one color, but not one size,
Stuck at the bottom, yet easily flies.
Present in sun, but not in rain,
Doing no harm, and feeling no pain.
What is it.
