Report: Andrea Pirlo agrees to join New York City FC, will be introduced by club Friday
The rumors have been constant, and now it seems the deal has finally been brokered to bring Juventus midfielder and Italian icon Andrea Pirlo to Major League Soccer.
Pirlo, 36, has reached an agreement to join expansion side New York City FC, reports Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News.

The veteran midfielder, who has one year remaining on his contract with the reigning Italian champions, is expected to be unveiled by the MLS side Friday, according to the Sporting News.
Pirlo enjoyed a stunning renaissance with Juventus after being discarded by AC Milan ahead of the 2012 campaign. He's long been linked with a move to North America, and New York has been the predominant rumored destination.
Should the deal come to fruition, the deep-lying playmaker and free-kick extraordinaire would become the third Designated Player on Jason Kreis' side, joining captain David Villa and Frank Lampard.
Juventus, meanwhile, look in good shape to absorb the departure of the bearded maestro, with the recent signing of Sami Khedira solidifying what is already one of the better midfield groups in Europe.
