Simple rules.

1) Only NBA players and pics.
2) Have to include why you posted it, or at the very least, a caption.
3) Bonus points for pics of guys with afros.

Enjoy,
-Sensei.

White men can jump

Jeff Foster is the man. He won an inter-team dunk contest earlier this season by beating out Jermaine O'Neal, Al Harrington and Jonathan Bender. Haw dang.

Apprentice, apprentice, apprentice......

You simply must follow the rules in here. I don't post pictures of weed in the NHL threads, do I? Wait..

Anyways, I have deleted the Gary Coleman post. Let me re-iterate. Must be NBA-related. Afro pics can only be posted if they're on the heads of guys who have played in the NBA.

CDK,
Nice. Good start.

The late DRAZEN PETROVIC, who was born in Sibenik, Croatia, was hailed as a superstar in his native land. As a young man in 1984-85, he once scored 112 points in a Croatian League game, hitting 40 of 60 from the field. He was a member of the silver medal-winning Yugoslavian (1988) and Croatian (1992) Olympic teams. He also led his Real Madrid Spanish league team to the European Cup Championship in February 1989, and led the Yugoslavian National Team to victory at the European Championships in June of that year. Petrovic's skills propelled him into a brief career in the NBA, cut short by his tragic death at the age of 28 in a car accident in Germany. Although he only played four seasons, it was evident that Petrovic was a budding NBA superstar. He began his career with the Portland Trail Blazers in 1989 before he was traded to the New Jersey Nets in 1991. He remained with the Nets until his death in 1993. Petrovic possessed exceptional shooting ability, and during his final season in 1992-93, he averaged a career-high and team-leading 22.3 ppg on 51.8 percent shooting from the floor, including 44.9 percent from three-point range. That season, he was third in the NBA in 3-point field goal percentage (.449) and was named to the All-NBA Third Team. In his four-year NBA career, he averaged 15.4 ppg on 50.6 percent shooting, including 43.7 percent from three-point range.

Nice Work Seedy

While it doesn't mention it in your post, I can only assume you posted the Drazen Petrovic stuff because he was named to the NBA Hall Of Fame yesterday. And rightfully so.

You know, guys mention Vlade, Kukoc, Schrempf and Olajuwon as players who broke the barrier for foreigners coming into the NBA, but Drazen was simply the man when it came to 'ethnic' players coming over. Not only was he the first European to be named to an All-NBA team, he was dynamite on the global scene and probably would have been a bonafide star in the league had the tragic car accident not cut his career short.

The funny thing about him was how bloody tough he was. Europeans were, and to a certain degree still are, considered "soft" compared to their North American counterparts. This guy came over to the Blazers when Clyde Drexler was the #1 guy at the SG spot and Drazen gave him a run for his money, despite the general notion that he wasn't talented enough to take Drex's minutes. More to the point, the stigma was that no European was going to come in and take something away from The Glide, regardless of how talented he was. He basically got the shaft, went to Jersey and proceeded to tear it up during his time there. Most players probably would have soured after getting the shaft in Portland - but Drazen simply ran with the opportunity.

Good shout again, one of my favourite ball players of all time.
